Chapter 3

Megumi p.o.v

"Megumi, can you please place the Orchids at that vase over there?" Mother called me for assistance while she was dealing with a customer.

"Alright, mom."

As usual every weekend I will help my mother around the flower shop. Mother adores flowers for as long as I can remember. Since she and father divorced, she decided to work at her old workplace. Mrs. Fujio was already the owner, and when she heard about our situation she quickly offer mother a new job. Thanks to her, we did not end up homeless and I am still able to go to school.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I am supposed to see Akako this afternoon. She promised to show me around the campus since I was aiming at to study there." I grabbed my bag after washing my hands, removing the dirt.

"Oh. You better hurry then. Tell Akako chan I said hi." She waved at me before she continued her work.

"Okay mom. See you later."

"Megumi! Love you !" Mother shouted at me, her fingers making a mini love sign. Some of the customers holding their laughs, not expecting her to show her love to her daughter. Well, the regulars already knew it.

"Mom! Please don't embarrass me. And where did you even learn that sign!"

"Akako chan taught me."

Of course, Akako did. Who else the one would teach her this kind of stuff?

"Well, I am leaving."

"Have a safe trip."

That entire day, Akako showed me around the campus. She is already a second year student, and she has a lot of connections since she is popular student. We have a lot of fun.

"Hmm? Mrs. Fujio?" I saw her name on my smartphone, ringing waiting to me pick it up. As I answered the call, Mrs. Fujio 's voice came to hear.

"Megumi chan, there's trouble ! Your mom, suddenly disappear!"

"What! Are you sure? Maybe she took a break and went for that cafe nearby."

"No, she wasn't. People at outside were screaming. Some of them were suddenly dissapear."

"I will be there. Please calm down Mrs. Fujio." I turned beside Akako.

Akako was chatting with one of her friends, suddenly stopped when she saw my face expression.

"What's wrong?"

"Akako. I don't know how, but mom is missing. Sorry, our visit are short but I need to go to the flower shop right now."

As I was about to rush back, I heard Akako's voice coming closer to me. I slowed down my paced and saw her ran next to me.

"I will go with you. I need to know what happened too."

As we arrive, there are police cars everywhere. Mrs. Fujio was right. Mom was nowhere to be seen. Akako and I wanted to search mom but, Saitou, Mrs. Fujio's son told me,
