Teen Undercover

Chapter 7

After Aiden and Kim left to go back to class I leave Jasmin there and go to the bathroom to change my top and scarf so people don't get suspicious. I changed my scarf to blue and removed my coat. I then realized that no one saw my top since the coat was covering it , so I left it on.

After I exited the bathroom I went back to the back of the school to wait for my next phone call.

Meanwhile in the office...

Soon after Jasmin and Sage left , Arlena walked up to the secretary's counter. She bent slightly as she walked and held her waist. She scrunched her face and made weird moaning noises ( way too dramatic :O ) to make it more believable.

"Um..ahh...can I please phone my mom to pick me up. I-I don't think I'll be able to manage the whole day like this." She said (more like excessively moaned)

"Oh dear! Ok. Dial her number and then write your name down in that book." The secretary said, quickly handing the phone to Arlena.

She received it with another weird face. If I were in the secretary's place right now, I would see right through Arlena's terrible acting. Yikes! But luckily the secretary was old so she felt bad for Arlena in pain.

Arlena put the phone to her ear and was about to dial the number but her hand froze mid-way.

Uhh...what was the number again? Shiiittt!

She quickly dialed a number that she presumed was correct.

"Yeah, it's this. I'm sure of it." She mumbled, biting her lip.

"Hello, Debonnairs pizza. How may I help you?"

"What on earth?!" She whispered after hearing what came from the other side.

"Hello?"

She quickly put the phone down. Oops, wrong number!

"What's wrong dear?" The secretary asked.

"Oh ...uh...nothing. She didn't pick up I'll try again." Arlena replied putting the phone to her ear again.

I'm definitely not mentioning this to Sage and the others unless I want to get teased my whole life.

She dialed the number again, just changing one or two digits this time.

"I'm positive this is it." She mumbled to herself and gnawed at her lip waiting for the call to go through.

The call went through but instead of getting a 'hello' she got:" What took you so long?!"

Arlena held the phone away from her ears because Sage's voice was about to make her deaf. Luckily the secretary was busy doing something on the computer, which was on the opposite wall.

"Uh...um...hi Sa-uh 'mom'. I'm not feeling too well can you pick me up?"

"Wait Arle-"

"Ok yeah thanks bye!" Arlena quickly said and put the phone down.

"How long will she be dear?" The secretary came back to the counter after doing something on the computer.

"Well she was actually in the area...so she'll be here in like 5 minutes."

Meanwhile...

Aiden and Kim were on their way back to class. Aiden seemed to be in a daze, smirking off into space. Kim notices this and nudges him in the arm.

"Ooo...oww... Kim. What was that for?" He moaned rubbing the part of his arm that Kim nudged.

"You're walking too slow. Now stop smiling at the sun and let's go." Kim said and began walking. Aiden started walking in a pace that matched hers.

"Sorry...I guess I spaced out."

"What were you thinking about?"

"Oh ...uh...nothing important." He said with his previous smirk returning. Just thinking about a certain beauty.

They reached the class and gave the teacher the same excuse they've been using about the coach calling them. They haven't really thought that out because, damn if that got out that they were lying, they'd be in a heap load of trouble.

I waited a few minutes with Jasmin after receiving the phone call from Arlena. I had to get in and out of the office quickly so the secretary doesn't recognize me because it would be strange for  scarfed women coming to pick up children, and the scarfed woman was one person!

After I waited I walked in and saw Arlena sitting and waiting. 

" Oh look! My mother is here!" she shouted like a small child.

The secretary looked up and allowed Arlena to leave with me. I tried not to show my face towards her, because it would seem way too familiar. Before we exited the door, she stopped me.

" Excuse me, miss? Have I seen you around here before?" The secretary spoke, not leaving her place behind the counter.

It was like my breath got caught it my throat. I took a deep breath and replied without turning to face her.:" Oh. No, I don't think you have. I must have seemed similar to someone. Okay, then.Good Day."

"Yes,good day to you too." The secretary said with a her eyes narrowed. She mumbled something along the lines of 'strange people live here' and returned to her work.

Once Arlena and I was close to the back of the school and were safely out of sight from security cameras, we ran.

Jasmin had a mini heart attack upon seeing us and then stood back in her original position.

"Okay, so you two are here. We just need to get Skylar. Speaking of Skylar, where is she?" I say while removing my scarf.

" She was supposed to come down  the  office not long after me." Arlena replied.

" Well that's going to delay us. Plus that secretary is is getting quite suspicious of two scarfed women,coming to pick up their sick kids." I say and lean my back against the wall.

" I guess we are going to have to wait." Jasmin says.

In the class when Aiden and Kim entered...

As Aiden and KIm entered, Aiden finally out of his daydream, Skylar looked a bit shocked. Aiden gave her a curious look because she was supposedto have already left.

The two teens spoke to the teacher about their late attendance to his class and returned to their seats.

Skylar was confused, well a better word to describe it would be scared. Scared of messing up and disappointing her friends.She closed her eyes and imagined herself going through with the plan. A boost of confidence washed over her but once she looked up to go to the teacher , she was overwhelmed with nervousness.

She sighed and held her head. I can't do this. I can't do this. Someone tapped her shoulder, turning around she sees Aiden sweetly smiling at her.

" You can do this."he whispered and pointed behind him. He moved a little and Skylar saw Kim at the back of the class giving her a thumbs up and an encouraging smile. She smiled back.

She was glad, actually their group of friends was glad , to have each other. They are all supportive and would never leave each other alone.We would always have each others backs and that's probably reason why they are not letting me do this mission on my own.
