Chapter 12: coffee and wine

That was intimidating and uncomfortable.

Geno noticed the looks and murmurs and was ashamed. His smile faded. He hadn't seen so many people in a long time and that made him feel very uncomfortable. So he told Reaper: ''Let's move on.'' while putting his hands in his pockets. And he walked away quickly knowing that the older would follow him, which he did without taking a moment longer.

When they were already very far from that group of people, Geno stopped short without saying anything. Reaper came up behind him and touched his shoulder gently.

Reaper: Are you alright?

Geno: What do you think?. . . Of course not! I'm a weirdo and even these people know it. . . It- It would be better if we go.

Reaper: What? We won't leave just yet. Listen Geno, you're unique and these people know it. You wanna know what? To hell with these people.

He turned Geno around to look at him in the face. The smaller reflected sadness on his face.

Reaper: You don't know how happy you make me Geno. The simple fact that I'm able to touch you right now makes me go crazy for you.

Geno: . . .

Reaper: Besides, the curiosity and enthusiasm that you show is like you're discovering the world and filling yourself with experiences, you're unique. And as you said before. . . You can touch me without dying, that's something that nobody else can do.

Those words moved Geno and he couldn't help but laugh with the pastry of the moment. He pushed him away by his chest gently.

Geno: Pff-- You're an idiot! . . . Hehe, but. . . thanks Reaper. . .

The half-dead thanking death? Wow! That was new, even Reaper was impressed. It seemed that he had advanced another step without even being a couple. The one of comfort.

Reaper: Hehe, Let's get out of here, let's do something else.

Geno: . . . Where will we go?

Reaper: We are going to eat something~.

He extended his hand to open a portal, so they won't have to walk but before doing it, Geno stopped him.

Geno: H-Hey, Wait! . . . Don't open it, I. . . I would like to walk around the city. We won't lose anything. . .

Reaper: Oww~. . . But we will lose some kilos~.

Geno: Tsk, you're a lazybones.

Reaper: Just like you Geno~.

The taller was a little discouraged of the idea of having a walk. It would be very tedious. But he wanted to see how Geno would enjoy it and see his face full of happiness. Normally Geno as a Sans wouldn't like to walk either. But for years he didn't see nature or anything more than just the void of his AU. The idea excited him too much.

And so he was. While they were walking in search of a place to eat, Geno kept on fanboying over things enthusiastically to their surroundings. Like the cars, the sky, the walls, the poles, etc. But in a quiet voice so that only the older could hear him. Reaper loved to see the reaction of his beloved, so he wouldn't interrupt his moment of emotion.

After walking a good while, they entered a very elegant bar-cafeteria, outside and inside. The light was dim and warm toned. Both skeletons sat on a slightly distant table. A waitress approached and gave the menu to each one welcoming them kindly with a smile and then retiring leaving them alone again. Geno was somewhat confused about the payment of the service.
