An unexpected turn

Coffe, presants, and talking

I woke up tired and sore.

Sore? Why am I sore? Must be from all the walking I suppose.

I look at my white iPhone on my nightstand. One new message from Brendan. 'hey vas happenin? Wanna meet up at the coffe shop near Jane avenue?'

I chuckle a little. Vas happenin is what we would always say when we would see each other. Memories.

I reply. 'sure. How about 11:00?'

'perfect!' is all he replies.

It's about 10:00 now. I take a shower. Then I get my black skinny jeans and a gray Beetles shirt and my combat boots and some fake glasses. Rock chic look today. It's now 10:30 so I have to kill some time.

I decided to go the long way to the coffe shop that is like 20 minutes by foot. Perfect. I'll arrive 10 minutes early.

I stop at a store because I saw a cool black bracelet with a skull on it. €10 pounds is a good deal on the bracelet I guess.

I get to the coffee shop and see Brendan. I look at the time. Oh crud I'm 5 minutes late!

"hey sorry I'm late" I apologise

"no problem. I got you something." Brendan says then he hands me a small box. I look inside and I see a beautiful necklace with a broken heart.

"where's the other half?" I ask

"right here" he shows me his keychain and there is the other half. "thank you!" I say "no biggie"

I start laughing. "what?" he asks "you still have an American accent!" I exclaim. "what?! It's not like you didn't have one" he says "toché" I say

"okay what do want to get?" Brendan asks "ummmm.....I'll just go up there. You know me. In love with food!" I say "you haven't changed at all" he says shaking his head.

I go up there and order 2 chocolate pies, a brownie, and an apple with milk. Then a coffee with 3 sugars and 2 creamers.

Brendan orders a key lime pie and a strawberry frappé. Before I could pay he hands the cashier 5 pounds. "hey! I could've paid!" I say "too late!" he says.

The cashier who's name is Destiny gives me a very annoyed look. "Stop starring. It's rude" I say

"what did you say to her?!" brendan asks "well she gave me a very annoyed look and I said "stop starring. You'll catch flies"

After 20 minutes, 4 pies, some milk, and a brownie later, we walk out of the shop with our drinks in our hand.

We get to my flat that has a bedroom a small kitchen and a very small living room, me and Brendan talk about our lives.

"wait, so you had a girlfriend that almost had a girl fight because a girl looked at you?" I ask "yeah Maddison was CRAZY! I didn't know that until after a week" is what he says laughing at how weird Maddison is.

"well I had a boyfriend who was so over protective he didn't let me leave the house." I say. "oh do you remember Louis? Louis Tomlinson? The one in that boy band, one direction?" Brendan asks "of course! He was one of our best friends!" I say. "and one of my best boy friends" I mutter "what?! You dated the Louis Tomlinson and didn't tell me?" Brendan asked "yeah that was after I stopped talking to you and I moved. I didn't know Louie was going to move to South Yorkshire. We bumped into each other and we talked. Then he went info the X Factor and we never talked again. He has Eleanor Calder now . Shes a model? I think she's a model anyway. Oh well. That's my past." I explain

"oh do you remember our motto?" Brendan asks "yes!" I say "live in the moment, because everything else is uncertain" we shout at the top of lungs and laughing and receiving a few "SHUT UPS!" from all over the flats.

Wow. It's 10:00 PM "hey it's getting late. Do you want to spend the night?" I ask "sure. I'll sleep on the couch" he says "no I'll sleep on the couch. You get my bed" I argue "no I'll get the couch" "no I'll get the couch" "no I'll get the couch" "no I'll get the couch" "no I'll get the couch" "FINE! We both get the bed how about that?" I ask "wouldn't that be a little bit weird?" he asks "no because best friends share beds right?" I say "true" Is all he replies

We get to bed. I change into pjs. "hey do you want anything else to sleep in?" I ask "no I'm fine" he replies with a smile. "only boxers? It's freezing in here at night!" I explain "I'm fine, Camila go to sleep" he says "fine. Good night! I-love-you-in-a-not-weird-way!" I say "love-you-too-in-a-not-weird-way!" he says back

All I remember is Brendan saying "I love you for real" before I fall asleep in confusion
