Chapter two - The Party
On my way to the party I find myself brushing my hair with my fingers finding that it might need a brush-through, and maybe I should redo my makeup.
The first thought that comes to mind is to go home to one of the girls in our "group", Lauren.
She lives on the other side of the block so it won't take that long.
I start to walk, but as I round the corner I think I hear a sound behind me, but when I turn around I don't see anything.
Hmmm ... That's strange. Well I can't stay here all night, I have a party to go to.
I run the last bit and ring the doorbell.
~~ Lauren
"Hi, Soph." I say when I see Sophie as I open the door. "What are you doing here? I thought you were going to the party?"
"Yeah. I'm on my way there actually, but I need to borrow someones brush and maybe some makeup." She says showing me her hair which red, long locks usually looks like they're coming straight from a hairstyling magazine, but now just looks like a mess.
I nod and show her into my room. "Of course."
"Thanks" She says with a smile looking much more like herself.
"No problem. I think it's nice that you came here." I am actually surprised 'cause I didn't think that anyone would come here in the evening. I'm not as you might say the most popular girl in school.
"Oh, but you're one of my friends. And, you always have so awesome hairstyle." She says making me smile as I hide my face in my fringe.
But I don't think I'm any match to her who always looks great and all the boys think so to, I think, considering they're always staring at her.
'Cause she has the most beautiful icy blue eyes that can make anyone crumble if she wants them to, and her long, dark red, straight hair goes all the way to her waist. I'm not lesbian if you thought so, no, but I can still se that she's hot. Hotter than most girls...
"Lauren, do you mind if I ask you to do my hair and makeup for me?" She drags me out of my thoughts.
"No not at all" I say already starting on brushing her hair. She didn't know that I've always wanted to be a stylist.
"By the way, do you want to go with me? To the party I mean."
"Yeah, that would be nice." I thought she'd never ask.
~~ Sophie
When Lauren's done with me, I look great. My hair is in a kind of half up, half down style that she has curled a little bit and as I turn it looks like my eyes are glittering due to the small amount of gold eyeshadow she put on. I knew she would make me beautiful.
How could she not, she always looks so awesome. I think she might be the most beautiful girl in school. She has the deepest brown eyes I've ever seen and her puffy, round face is framed by her light brown curls that goes to her shoulders. It looks easy to handle not like mine, that's always tangled, but she always has it in a ponytail as if she doesn't like it.
But this is not the time to think about this. We have a party to go to.
~~
As I'm walking towards Kevin's house with Lauren I hear a sound. It's sounding familiar, like I've heard it before. It sounds a bit like someone's following us.
I stop and turn around to see if I see something.
"What is it?" Lauren stops and turn to me.
"I think I heard something."
