11 months later
It's now the year 2016. I wake up and I realize that it's my 15th birthday. I spring out of bed. I rush into the bathroom to do my usual morning routine. Then I get dressed in shorts and a t shirt. I walk out of the bathroom and Percy is wearing jeans and the Camp Half-Blood t shirt. We walk out and go to the dining pavilion. Once we get to the dining pavilion Percy walks over to Annabeth. That's when I realize that it's a leisurely breakfast. We get to sit with whoever we want to. I walk over to Emma and Jake. I sit down and they both say at the same time, "Happy Birthday Jess!" I say, "Thank you." Then everyone comes up to me and wishes me a happy birthday.
3 hours later
I walk into my cabin and the lights are off, candles are lit, there are rose petals on the floor, classical music is playing, and I find Annabeth and Percy in a full on makeout sesh. I say to myself, "Ew." Then I walk out closing the door. I put a sign on that says, "DO NOT ENTER FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!" I decide to head down to the docks where Emma and Jake are. Emma is in tears. I run over to them and say, "Emma? What happened?" Emma says, "Jeans is moving to Australia." I say. "What?" Jake says, "Yeah. My mom says that I have a shot at getting the lead in a tv show." I say, "Jake. That's a huge opportunity." Jake says, "Yeah but I would be leaving tomorrow and I didn't know if I would ever see you again or if you would be up for a long distance relationship so I th-." I say, "Jake. Don't worry about me. You're my boyfriend and I'm telling you to follow your dreams." Jake says, "What about us?" I say, "Well I think that the spark is gone between us for now. I don't want to stop you from getting a girlfriend in a different country." Jake says, "So I guess the only option is to..." I say, "Break up..." Then I start crying. I hug him. I manage to choke through my tears, "I'll miss you." Jake says, "Thanks Jess. I also don't want to stop you from getting a new boyfriend." I say, "What do you mean?" Jake says, "Leo has a serious crush on you." I say nothing.
That evening
After dinner I walk with Jake and Emma to my tree. We climb up to the highest point and just sit there watching the sunset. I hear Jake whisper to me, "We'll still be friends right?" I say, "Of course." Then I put my head on Jake's shoulder and fall asleep like that.
