Diane's Idea

Elizabeth's P.O.V

Diane had let me go and kicked Meliodas again noticing another perverted smirk emitting from him. Meliodas' face was now in the wall again.

Meliodas: Hey..!

His muffled voice only made Diane laugh and roll her eyes.

Diane: Why don't we have a sleepover at my place?

I grinned, but then frowned realizing we would have school tomorrow.

Elizabeth: Today's Wednesday, Diane. We have school tomorrow.

I explained which made Diane stare at me confused.

Diane: So? It's fine! Just bring your school uniform for the morning.

I scratched my head still unsure.

Elizabeth: I don't think my sisters will let me on a school night.

Diane groaned while falling onto the floor. I jumped surprised and quickly looked over to see if Diane was ok.

Elizabeth: Diane?! Are you ok?!?

She held an arm over her eyes as her face saddened. I then heard her began to cry which made me feel bad.

Diane: I-It's a-alright, Elizabeth. J-Just leave me b-be with t-this guy...

She pointed to Meliodas dramatically. He was actually behind me now with his head on my shoulder. Of course he used the bed to reach my height or it would've been impossible.

Meliodas: I'm not that bad!

I heard Diane sniff as she sat up and began to pout.

Diane: It's ok, Elizabeth. You can leave me all alone, I don't blame you.

I sighed finally making up my mind.

Elizabeth: I'll come, I'll come!!

Diane's face switched from sad to extremely happy. She giddily jumped up and hugged me.

Diane: YAY!!! Sleepover!!! I'll invite Ban, Elaine, King, Guila, Howzer, Zeldris, Jericho, Merlin, Escanor, Gowther-

Meliodas: Wait, wait, wait, wait!

Diane stopped counting her fingers and looked at Meliodas in confusion.

Diane: What?

Meliodas: Zeldris?

Diane: Yea, what about him?

Meliodas stood up and walked over to Diane.

Meliodas: We are NOT inviting Zeldris.

Diane: Why not?

Meliodas: Because he tried to steal-

He stopped talking and glanced over in my direction. A small blush layered my cheeks as I just smiled and shrugged.

Meliodas: Whatever.

He went back over to me and let Diane continue her planning. There would be snacks, drinks, games, and movies. She seemed excited which only made me happy.

Diane: Ok then!

She clapped her hands together to signal she was finished explaining.

Diane: Since I'm done, Elizabeth shouldn't be here and go get ready.

Elizabeth: H-Huh?

Diane started to push me out the door as Meliodas noticed and began to pout wanting me to stay.

Meliodas: Hey wait!

Diane: Nope! Why don't you be patient and you can see her at the sleepover, hm? Ya perv.

Meliodas rolled his eyes as Diane pushed me out the door. I could only glance once more at Meliodas to see him winking at me. It made me blush and I was glad that no one could see it.

Once we got downstairs, I could see Zeldris with my bag and a smile. I smiled back with kindness hoping he would forgive me knowing that I spent most of my time in Meliodas' room. He nodded, signaling his forgiveness and handed me my bag.

Diane: Oh, Zeldris make sure to come to our sleepover! It's at my place and I'll text you the time.

Zeldris: Ok?

I sweat-dropped and smiled at the confused Zeldris as I was being pushed out the door by Diane.

When we got outside Diane gave me a quick hug and ran to her house. I sighed and walked to my house. When I went inside I was met by Veronica watching TV.

I tried to sneak over to the stairs without Veronica noticing, but I tripped over my own two feet which caused Veronica to avert her head in my direction.

Veronica: There you are, Elizabeth! I began to worry, it was getting late.

I nervously laughed while scratching the back of my head. I walked over to her and looked away from her eyes still unsure if she'll let me go to the sleepover.

Elizabeth: So, my friends want to have a sleepover and they invited me...

Veronica looked at me questioningly.

Elizabeth: Can I go?

Veronica: Heck no.

I knew it.

Elizabeth: B-But sister-

Veronica: It's a school night! You need to do your homework anyway.

I pouted.

Elizabeth: I'll do my homework, but after can I go?

Veronica: If I know your friends better, I know they'll want to stay up and you can't when you have school the next day, so no!

I frowned and stared at the floor disappointed.

Elizabeth: I'm responsible though!

Veronica: Yea, yea go to your room.

Elizabeth: You're not my mom!

Veronica swiftly looked at me in surprise as I just stood dumbfounded at what I said. Mom had passed away right after I was born and I've blamed myself for it. But now that I'm mentioning my mom out loud, I feel heartbroken and guilty.

I quickly ran upstairs and into my room without a second glance behind me. A couple of tears fell from my eyes, but I quickly wiped them away knowing there was no room to cry. There's no point in crying.

I made up my mind to Diane that I was going to the sleepover, so I'm going and that's final! I stood up and grabbed a bag and stuffed a blanket and pillow in there. I put my pajamas as well as a tooth brush and tooth paste in a side compartment. I also put a jacket, my school uniform, and a brush on top. I also tucked my homework under my uniform hoping I could finish it when everyone is asleep.

After packing, I snuck a glance out the window to see how high my room was from the ground. Though, I had to leave, but how? My phone buzzed in my pocket. I looked at it and saw a text from Diane saying I could come.

I sighed and opened the window while dropping my bag onto the ground. There was a 'thump', but I don't think Veronica heard it. I soon dangled my legs above the window ledge, hoping I wouldn't get too hurt. I held my breath and started to hold onto part of the ledge with my hands. I was trying to climb down, but now I just dangled from my window ledge.

Elizabeth: Darn it.

I glanced down and let go of the ledge.
