Totally Not Suspicious

Elizabeth's P.O.V

My two sisters had stayed silent, quietly thinking of their next move. Meliodas had finally turned to me with a smile making me beam back at him. That's when a huge thunderclap rippled through the house making me yelp.

Meliodas: Goddesses, the storm is getting worse by the second.

Veronica: I know.. that's why, even if I completely despise this idea, I'm going to let you stay until the storm lets up.

My eyes widened in surprise and confusion. What's with the sudden change of heart?

Veronica: We're still not done with this conversation, so you BOTH are not off the hook yet. Just go do your homework or something.

I nodded slowly before leading Meliodas to my room with a slight smile on my face. When he entered, he looked around, examining my bedroom closely. I blushed, feeling a bit shy that a boy was in my room.

Elizabeth: S-Sir Mel-Meliodas..?

His green eyes scanned over me with a questioning expression.

Elizabeth: T-Thank you.. f-for saying you'll protect me..

I couldn't stop myself from blushing a dark red when letting those words come out my mouth. A cheeky smile replaced his confusion.

Meliodas: There's no need to thank me. I am more than thrilled to be by your side and keep you safe.

I let my silver hair fall over my face in hopes he wouldn't see how red I was.

Elizabeth: I-I.. guess we should s-start on some homework..

I pulled out a textbook I owned and opened to the assigned page filled with math equations. I plopped myself on the bed as I grabbed a few pieces of loose leaf.

Meliodas: Wait, we're really doing homework?

I scoffed softly with a giggle following after.

Elizabeth: The first step of having my sisters like you is probably by doing this with me.

Meliodas: Fiiiine.

He sat on the other side of my comforter whilst talking a piece of paper and scanning the math textbook. I was about to write my answer for the first question before I heard a loud thunderclap from outside my window making me scream. Meliodas shot up to look at me with a worried expression until he realized why I was so frightened.

Meliodas: Ellie, are you scared of thunder?

Elizabeth: H-Huh?

I was currently recovering from the horrid, loud noise. When I finally composed myself, I felt embarrassed to be afraid of such a natural cause.

Elizabeth: M-Maybe a little.. I think I'm just a little bit jumpy is all..

Meliodas scooted over to me still a little concerned. He placed his hand over mine, rubbing his thumb across my knuckles.

Meliodas: It's alright if you're scared, Elizabeth.

That's when I saw a flash of light shoot across the sky from the corner of my eye. I braced myself for the bellowing clap of thunder until I suddenly was pulled into a tight embrace. I gasped, but it wasn't because of the horrid noise that came right after.

Elizabeth: S-Sir Meliodas..?

His hands were wrapped around me protectively as my face was hidden in his shirt.

Meliodas: Just try to occupy your mind from the thundering.

I peeked up at him with a blush invading my face. He gave me a sneaky smirk whilst pulling me closer in his grip.

Meliodas: Go ahead and think of anything you want~

I made sure to swipe away any dirty thoughts Meliodas try to urge on. And following suit of what he said before, I made sure to be extra invested into my homework. A few minutes later, my back ended up being pressed against his chest and his arms were wrapped around my torso while I solved the endless equations on the page for homework. I advised him that he should also be finishing his homework, but he told me to not worry so much and ended up taking a nap, my shoulder acting as his pillow.

When I finished writing my last few answers on the page, I heaved a sigh and relaxed into Meliodas' embrace. His soft snoring and my total concentration on the equations had distracted me enough to the point where I wouldn't get scared of the bellowing thunder.

I decided to take advantage of this opportunity, so I nuzzled my head in his chest when turning my body slightly. He stirred in his sleep making me smile and caress his cheek, so he could fall back into his dream world.

He slouched back onto my soft pillows, taking me along with him. I stifled my giggle. He's so adorable! Look at that face~!

I laid my head on his chest, feeling it rise and fall and hearing his heart beat. I listened to the slight thrumming pattern over and over again until I felt my eyelids get heavy and start to doze off. So warm..

Veronica: Hey!! Are y'all still in there??

I whined in a bit of annoyance, but answered her back knowing she most likely awoke Meliodas anyway.

Elizabeth: Y-Yes!

I heard the boy holding me grumble tiredly as he shifted toward the source of voice on the other side of my door.

Veronica: You're not doing anything.. inappropriate.. are you?

I blushed, sitting up quickly in case she bursted in my room and fussed at me.

Elizabeth: N-No, sister! We just finished our homework..

I almost yelped when I felt two strong arms wrap around me and tug me down in an embrace. I heard a small growl escape from the blond boy behind me.

Meliodas: Mine..

My face felt like it was on fire by now, and I was still trying to convince my sister that nothing suspicious was going on.

Veronica: Was that Meliodas? What'd he say?

Elizabeth: N-Nothing! He d-didn't say anything!

I heard the green eyed boy grumble once again and tuck his head in the crook of my neck. He's acting so possessive..!! Goddesses, I really hope I don't look like a tomato.
