The sun is setting by the time I left the infirmary. I got bored. Kouyou is still talking to Dazai. She sang like a fish...
Okay, I really need to know what kind of candy Dazai had. Even though Yosano healed me, my head is still kind of fuzzy.
I entered the main area to only find Kunikida sitting at his desk, talking on the phone, while he worked on his laptop.
"...Isn't that the place that used to be your headquarters before you founded the Agency, Director?"
He's talking to the director.
"...Director? What's the matter?"
Is he okay?
"...Director...?"
Getting no answer, Kunikida simply hangs up the phone as Atsushi walks into the room, carrying a large box of paper work. He looks at Kunikida, having heard the ending of his conversation.
"What's wrong?"
"The call with the Director just..." Kunikida thinks to himself. "Could it be an enemy attack?"
That worried my brother.
"What?! Then we should go help right away!" he rushes up to Kunikida's side.
"The president is fine. More importantly-"
"How do you know that for sure?!"
"Think about it, Atsushi." I speak as I walk up to them. "Kuniki-san's been here longer than us, so he knows the director pretty well. If he says he's okay, then he's going to be fine."
"The girl's correct. And that's 'Kunikida-san' to you."
"But, still-"
Kunikida lets out a sigh as he stops working and stands up. He then turns towards my twin. He holds out his right hand to him.
"Try to grab my hand. You'll figure it out right away."
Atsushi sets the box down on his desk and reaches for Kunikida's hand.
The moment he touched it, Kunikida flipped him over and onto the ground. Kunikida looks at my brother as he places his hands in his pockets.
"That's the first technique I learned from my master. I've never won a single match against him. He's not going to lose to a group of dime-a-dozen assassins."
My twin was blinks as he stares up at our superior.
"Cool~. My turn! My turn!" I happily raise my hand.
"You really want to try? Be my guess."
Kunikida holds his hand out to me. I grabbed it, but I was much faster then him. I ended up flipping Kunikida right next to my brother. They both stared up at me shocked as I smile down at them.
"...What just happened...? Girl! How'd you do that?!"
"W-Well, Shiori's always been a fighter..." Atsushi nervously smiles.
"I had an amazing martial arts teacher when I was younger. I could never beat him either. But if I was able to flip you, I guess that means he's faster than you."
"Faster?! I was going easy on-"
"Dazai-san! I beat Kuniki-san!" I happily cheer as I head back towards the infirmary.
"No she didn't!" Kunikida quickly climbs to his feet and chases after me.
~~~~Time Skip~~~~
Everyone was gathered in a place that reminded of church. Kunikida turns the lights on as everyone sets up towards the front. A big smile fills my face as I step on stage and stood behind the podium that stood in the front center. I bang my hand on it to catch everyone's attention.
"I would like to thank you all for coming to this church."
"It's not a church." Kunikida informs me.
"...Then lets get this occult meeting started. What will we be worshipping today?"
"Candy." Ranpo simply answers while holding up his brown bag of sweets.
"Oh great, delicious, candy gods, we worship you." I put my hands together in a prayer.
As a joke, everyone but Kunikida and Atsushi copy me.
"We thank you for bringing your sweetness to our mouths. Without you, this world would be bitter. We will always be your servants of sweetness. All hail the candy gods."
"All hail the candy gods!" everyone chants.
"Knock it off, girl. We have work to-"
I point at Kunikida dramatically.
"How dare you interrupt our ritual! The candy gods are mad now. We will have to sacrifice you to make them happy once more."
"Stop this already! There's no such thing as candy gods!"
"How dare you! Off with his head!" Ranpo shouts.
I couldn't help but bust out laughing. Everyone else does the same. Kunikida wasn't smiling. Atsushi was nervously smiling.
"Oh!"
I slam my hand on the podium as I remember something.
"Dazai-san! You have some explaining to do!"
Dazai looks at me confused.
"Oh, that's right." Atsushi remembers as well.
"What kind of candy did you have in your desk?"
"Candy?"
"Yeah, Shiori found some candy in your desk and ate some. She...well..."
"The candy made me trip like crazy. It was like the time you ate that poisonous mushroom."
"...I have no idea what you're talking about."
"What...?"
"Wait! You ate my evidence?!" Ranpo suddenly asks.
"Evidence?"
"The police sent me evidence to help and try to figure out what kind of drugs it was. To keep it safe, I hid it in a place no one would exspect."
"...My desk?" Dazai questions.
"It was too much work to walk all the way back to my desk, at the time. Plus, I needed to go shopping for more sweets."
After saying that, he pops a lollipop in his mouth.
"...Wait."
