Tim's P.O.V.

There was a tight squeeze coming from my hand. Nothing too hard, just reassuring. That's what caused me to wake.

Sitting there, looking down at her hands, one of mine in her own, was (Y/n). Her eyes were closed, still unaware that I had woken up. I give her had a squeeze back, instantly grabbing her attention.

Her eyes shot up and stared at me, wide and confused, before she gasped. "Oh shit," she leaped out of the seat she had been in and wrapped her arms around my neck, "it worked."

I hissed slightly but ignored whatever was hurting and wrapped my own arms around her, as she buried her face in my neck. I let out a small chuckle at her actions. "I missed you too."

(Y/n) pulled away, her warm hands cupping my face as she stared at me lost for words. Then her eyebrows scrunched together before in an unexpected action, she slapped my shoulder. "Ow!" I let out a little exaggerated.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again you jerk." She pulled me back in for another hug, letting out a sharp breath that had seemed to be held for too long.

"A little easy on the ribs there, (Y/n)," I spoke once her grip began to be getting too tight.

She let out a small gasp and quickly released me, letting out a string of apologies, then leaned back in the chair she'd been in. "How do you feel?"

I ran my fingers through my hair, combing it out of my eyes, in the process I hit a bump that had been on my forehead. "Minus the horn I have growing, " I stuck out my lower lip and shrugged, "I feel peachy."

(Y/n) gave me a quizzical look, an eyebrow arched as she inspected my face, "You feel peachy?" I gave her another shrug not knowing what to tell her. Of course I had pain all over, but it's something I go through seven days a week, just a bit maximized. Basically saying that the pain is nothing I haven't dealt with before.

She sighed, resting her elbows on her knees and looking down at her lap, shaking her head, "You've been hanging around your brothers too much."

We both laughed about the truth in that statement before she spoke again, "So, how did you get that bump?"

~~~~~
Jason and I had been fighting. At first, I really thought we were actually going through with Joker's Survival of the Fittest bullcrap until I realized Jason was pulling his punches; he was stalling.
He knew I'd think of a way to beat the matters, but I didn't have enough time. And we both surely didn't have enough energy.
So when Jason threw his gun at me, I guess expecting me to catch it, it hit me in the head, causing me to stumble back. Joker cackled over the intercom at the incident, as if dying of laughter. No pun intended.
~~~~~

"I might have hit my head on something, " I lied straight through my teeth, gestured to the bump, "my head is still too fuzzy to remember." I swung my legs off the med bed, bracing my hands on both sides of me.

"Oh, right, " She looked down, closing her eyes for a second then looked back at me, "sorry."

"Help me up?" I grinned at her, outstretching my hands like a child would when wanting to be carried.

She mocked my grin and rolled her eyes, pushing herself up using the handles on the chair. She reached out and grabbed my forearms. I did the same as she pulled me to her. My arms slowly move to hold her waist and her hands moved up to hold my biceps. We stayed there looking into each other's eyes, but neither of us did anything, only stared, oblivious to Jason who had leaned against the door frame.

"I hope I ain't interrupting anything, " he said after coughing to get our attention. We slowly moved away from each other before looking at Jason.

"What's up?" I asked slinging an arm around (Y/n)'s shoulders.

"Just checking in to make sure you were okay, birdbrain, " Jason smirk to himself triumphantly. "But it seems everything's alright, " he sent (Y/n) an obvious wink, smirk only getting wider.

(Y/n) let out a swivel of laughter, leaning more into my side.

"Anyways, " Jason started, rubbing the back of his neck, clearly having trouble on how to phrase his next words, "I wanted to apologize for the devil's horn." I saw his Cheshire grin grow as he saw (Y/n)'s eyebrows knit together in confusion when she looked to me, inspecting my bump.

"Thanks?" was all I said hoping to play off the lie. As it was, Jason wasn't buying it but didn't say anything more then what he said before pushing off the wall and walking away.

(Y/n) turned towards me, arms knotting behind my neck and pulling me closer. "I'm glad you're alright, Tim, really. You have no idea how worried I was when you weren't returning my calls and--"

"Hey it's okay, " I moved my hands to cup her face, worry marring her features, "I'm okay."

Her face softened before she brought her lips to mine, instantly sparking that flame that I was so worried to lose. And I couldn't be happier than being with her, in this moment. Even if it meant I was in physical pain, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

She's everything I thought I couldn't have with the lifestyle we live. Yet here she is, real and breathing as her lips move against mine and not some figment of my imagination that I have decided to create.

She finally broke off the kiss, her eyes lingering closed before fluttering open. "So, wanna tell me how you really got the "devil's horn"?" a wicked grin played at her lips.

I groan in frustration, ready to accept my fate.
