~Weeks later~

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

When I woke up in the middle of the night, I had expected Tim to be beside me, but when I turned over to look, and all that was there were empty sheets. I slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, then pushed the covers aside. After swinging my feet off the bed and standing up, I walked out of the room after not seeing Tim.

Down the hall of the apartment, which was supposed to be a guest bedroom's door, was open. The room remained to be used as mine and Tim's office room. We basically stored everything in there, weapons, technology, even our uniforms for patrol.

What struck this occurrence as odd was that we always kept the room door locked from the outside and only used it when we'd go on patrol or had work to do.

I crept to the door, keeping my footsteps light, before opening the door a little, the obvious squeaking of the wood making my presence known. Once sticking my head inside, I was met by Tim's eyes staring back at me from a distance, the holographic screens in front of him making his eyes brighter in the darkness from where he stood.

"Hey, " I smiled keeping my hands braced against the door frame.

"Hey, " he turned back to the screens after speaking.

I walked over to him, placing my hands on his shoulders, massaging in hopes of ridding the tension. "You okay?" I asked looking around him to see what he was working on.

"Yeah, Bruce just called in about a case I wanted him to look at for me. He got the information I needed." he turned over his shoulder and gave me a mocking grin, "Suprised you didn't wake up when I did."

I slapped his shoulder lightly and placed my hands on my hips when he turned around, "Well excuse me for being human like the rest of us."

"Bold of you to assume I'm human." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest, "So tell me what I'm looking at."

With the touch of his fingers, he brought up a side screen that showed a warehouse that looked pretty run down, "Well this is a warehouse that has been recently brought for unknown use. And this, " he brought up a picture of a man in a lab coat, a cliche to evil one might say, "is the man who bought it."

I went beside Tim and tapped on the holographic image of the scientist-looking man, causing information to pop up about him. "Says here that he has doctors degrees in science and health science," I say, continuing to skim through the information.

"Yeah, he also happens to be involved in recent cases following the kidnapping of metahuman kids," Tim says, bringing a new screen out from seemingly nowhere which shows police reports, pictures, and pages of news reports. "They have no evidence to pin on the bastard so he's walking free."

"I'm gonna take a lucky guess and say Bruce found the evidence we need to put him behind bars." I face back to Tim once the computer shuts off and I notice a dim light from a nearby lamp is the only thing illuminating the room.

Tim places his hands on the sides of my arms and rubs up and down slowly. "I don't know how you put up with me," He says out of the blue.

I am suddenly hit with confusion and look at him like he's grown a third head, "What is that supposed to mean?"

He slowly slides his hands down to my waist and settles them there. "Everything you've done, all the things you've helped with, " he let out a sigh, "I don't deserve you."

"Well let me just remind you that you are the reason we met, " I said, wrapping my arms back around his neck, with a smirk on my face, "you did save me."

He seems to relax and let out a low chuckle, "I did, didn't I?"

"You did," I smile through my words.

He sighs, closing his eyes almost as if he's ashamed, "It's just so much has changed ever since we met, most of all I have changed. And to be honest, I'm not yet comfortable with it all, even myself."

I took Tim's face into my hands, seeing the pain in his eyes once they met mine, "If you're worried that I don't love you for who you are, that's something you will never have to worry about."

"But there's more to it," He said pulling himself from my hands and turning his back towards me, "I'm scared that one day I will change too much, so much that I'm not recognizable anymore. Then you will start to hate me and--"

I cut him off, grabbing his hands to spin him back around, "Did you not hear what I said?" He tries to avoid my eyes when I look at him, "You never have to worry about me not loving you. Ever. And you wanna know why, Tim? Because the things I fell in love with all those years ago, you still have them."

"Tim, please look at me, " I said slowly letting my hands move to touch his face. When he didn't immediately respond, I called out his name again.

He looked at me slowly, almost as if his look would hurt me, tears clearly covering his blue irises and threatened to spill with every blink. The pain in my chest grew worse seeing how much this actually bothered him.

"Please don't ever think you won't be good enough for me, " I muttered resting my forehead against his.

He sighs, clearly lost in his own head and doesn't speak, only nods his head slightly as a tear runs down his cheek.

I swipe at it with my thumb, my own tears breaking loose from my eyes as I bring our lips together. Nothing will be able to describe the emotion shared between us, just so much pain yet there was security within the kiss. It seemed as if a calm wave of relief washed over us, settling down the worries and insecurities we had.

And in this time, I was able to smile into the kiss once I felt I had finally reassured whatever doubt Tim had in himself as he found his arms around my waist yet again.

After a few minutes, we pulled apart, staring into each other's eyes, still disheveled with emotion. I planted a quick kiss on the side of Tim's mouth causing a slight smile and look of clarity to appear back on his face.

"Now, " I started, a grin taking over my lips, "what do you say we go kick some ass?"

I would like to start off with the fact that I'm sorry for the slow updating. I hope that you guys could forgive me for that 😂

Second, I'm gonna end the story right here guys. I'm sorry if you wanted more, but there are many other projects I've wanted to work and get started on. This story was a learning experience and I have enjoyed every bit of this journey.

This has been a blast and to be honest I started this book having no idea where it would end. Thank you for the support once again and it has been one hell of a ride with all of you. I'm sorry that the story must end but this won't be the last time I write something.

Stay safe with everything going on right now and hope you enjoyed!!💕
