-"Italics & bold parentheses"=thoughts
-(Y/n)=your name
-I'll be using Japan's human name, Kiku, in this."Where is she?" Kiku sighed. He's been waiting for his new bride, (Y/n), to arrive for hours. "She should have been here by now...maybe something happened...maybe she changed her mind." He'd be heartbroken if that were the case. He closed his eyes and tried to conjure the image of her face, bringing good memories and feelings to his heart.
Kiku remembers when he first saw her while he was strolling around the neighboring village during the springtime. She was at the edge of town in a large grove of cherry trees, gently singing while admiring the blossoms swirling in the air. He quietly made his way closer to her to better listen to her songs and see what beauty the woman creating this music must possess. He was stricken when she finally turned enough for a glimpse of her features and he almost mistook her for a goddess.
Kiku sighed at one of his many past memories of his bride but he and the company present to properly receive (Y/n) and welcome her to her new home were made cautious by some fast paced rustling approaching. He was excited thinking his love had finally arrived but was shocked, disappointed, and confused at who he saw.
"Help! Help! They've taken her!" It was (Y/n)'s mother and she looked shaken and absolutely devastated.
"(Y/n)? Who's taken her?" Kiku was brought out of his usually calm demeanor. He somehow relieved to receive any word of you and overcome with worry at the same time. What was this about you being taken? "What is going on?"
"The Oni!" The woman panted. "They took her!" She repeated her cries.
Kiku approached the older woman to get details. "Please, can you tell us exactly what happened?" He coaxed gently. His words worked and she proceeded to explain the whole story.
~the 'whole' story~
It was a beautiful morning and you and you mother were just setting out to move you into your husband's home. You are incredibly excited to share the same roof with your love. "I wonder if he's as excited as I am?" You bashfully thought while ignoring your warming cheeks.
As your mind drifted to your beloved Kiku, an attendant assisted you into your carriage. As you sat down, you smoothed out your attire so nothing would wrinkle or crease. Your carriage was followed by others as you were carried to Kiku's home that laid a bit away from your own village.
On your way to your new home you had to pass through an engrossing forest that began as soon as you left the edge of the village and went on for miles. You pushed aside the curtains concealing you from the outside world and frowned at the long journey ahead. You took a look up at the sky and saw some clouds. "I hope it doesn't rain."
"Oh, no!" The clouds weren't the only problem, not much later your entire party was enveloped in a blinding fog, you could barely see your own hand. Suddenly you heard a noise and gasped. You quickly let go of the curtains letting them fall back down. "What was that?" You could hear creatures outside. You let out a scream as your carriage was suddenly jolted back and forth and you could feel yourself moving.
As the fog moved on, the traveling party was horrified to see that the carriage was gone along with the bride inside. The mother of the bride ran from her own carriage to where her daughter's was. "Where is my daughter?!" She yelled, already starting to cry. "We have to find her!"
