I decided that we needed to work our way up to the big stuff, so I start us out with something light. I lead us over to the swing ride which looks like we can get on after this one group is finished.

I strike up a little conversation while we're waiting.
"So how's it been popstar? I've seen you've been doing your thing, your song is fire by the way ."
"Thank you. Yeah and sorry about being MIA and sort of popping up out of nowhere. I've been super busy with rehearsals and just work in general, but I've been good. I really needed a break though, so thanks for this."
"Normani do you know how pressed I've been to go on a date with you?" I ask jokingly. "Best believe, you do not have to thank me for any of this, its my pleasure. I know you're busy so don't worry about it, I get it. Plus this was perfect timing, the fair is in town and I haven't been in years."
"Yeah I don't think I've been to a fair or carnival since I've turned 18, so I was super excited when you said this is what we were doing."
"You serious? You haven't been to the fair as an adult?" I ask in disbelief.
"Yeah, I mean unless I was performing" she says as we move up to get on the ride.
"Well let me tell you its a whole different experience"
"Really?" she asks as we strap into the seats.
"Yup" I say popping the p. "Lets just say I hope you don't have plans tomorrow because we rey get geeked tonight. If you don't wake up with a hangover tomorrow then I haven't done my job."
"Oh gosh." she chuckles. "I don't think I'm prepared".
"I got you already. Get ready for the experience of a lifetime"
"I think you might be over selling this ride, just a tad. Its cool but its not all that" the ride worker says, coming up behind me checking to make sure my seat is secure.
