"So you're going to tell me that your favorite burger from In-n-Out is a protein style one?" I looked at my phone to see Luke. It had been quite some time since the last time we saw each other for tour in October.
If it weren't for FaceTime, I do not know what I would have done during winter break. Peter has tried to reach out to me and as much as I try to avoid him, he is my neighbor. Luckily, whenever he comes up to me, Luke is on the phone with me.
"It tastes good," he tried to reason. "Look ask Calum. Wait- Calum!"
"Yeah!" Calum yelled back but it seemed kind of muffled.
"Right that the burger with the lettuce from In-n-Out is good?" Luke yelled
"Hell yeah!" Calum screamed.
"Is he showering?" I asked.
"Yeah how did you know?" Luke asked.
"It sounds kind of muffled," I explained.
"Speaking of showers, do you want to come with me to this party?" Luke popped the question.
"What do showers have to do with parties?" I asked. "You know what, forget I asked that. When is it?"
"Next weekend, it's a Halloween party that my friend is throwing and I was thinking maybe we could have matching costumes."
"Well tell your friend that it isn't October, it's January," I started off. "And no, the matching costumes would be weird because we aren't a couple."
"It won't be weird, please do it," Luke begged. "Besides you act as if we don't do couple things. I'm still not over those pictures you sent me the other night."
"What if the boys and I set you up with someone?" I suggested trying to avoid talking about how I sent him nudes out of nowhere. In my defense, I was really horny and my tits looked great that night.
"No, I want to match with you," Luke fought.
"Come on, let me set you up," I begged.
"Hey Maria," Michael said plopping down next to Luke. "What's happening?"
"Well I want to set up Luke with someone so that they could have matching costumes for the Halloween party but he won't let me," I explained.
"Why not Luke? You're always complaining about being single to me and Crystal," Michael said.
"You see! Hey maybe Crystal and I could work together, she has hot friends," I suggested.
"If it makes you happy," Luke gave up.
"Thanks!" I cheered as the call dropped.
And it was as the call dropped that so did my cheering. Was I really about to self sabotage whatever Luke and I had going on? And all for what? For feeling insecure, our age gap, the distance between LA and the bay?
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by my phone ringing. Without thinking about it, I answered, "You know what Luke, on second thought we should go together. I won't know anyone at the party and matching costumes would force us to stick together."
"It's not Luke, but if you want we could have matching costumes for the party," Crystal said on the other line of the phone.
"Oh it's you. Hey babe, how are you doing?" I greeted.
"I'm great Mar, Michael told me about the plan to set up Luke with one of my friends. We could change the plans though, I wouldn't want you to feel pressured to be at a party with strangers," Crystal explained.
