Harry's P.O.V

Lily's face was a cloud of emotions, it was pale with nervousness, but her eyes lit up with excitement. This would be her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I've done this twice already but it was different this time. Lily was my youngest... There wouldn't be any more children to call or to go on day trips with. Despite me and Ginny splitting up, me and the children have remained close. My older two children have been at Hogwarts for 2&3 years. They had already scurried onto the train to meet their friends. I've never heard much about their friends... But whenever I ask, they murmur something about practicing spells.

My train of thought was broken by the steam blowing from the tops of the scarlet red train. I grabbed on to Lily's arms and enveloped her into me. She was shaking with nerves.

"You'll make friends in no time" I reassured her.

"But what if I don't?" She questioned

"You're a beautiful. Knowledgable little girl. If people don't want to be your friend then I think they need to go and visit Madam Pomfrey."

The train squealed once more.

This meant that Lily had to get on the train.

She smiled a watery smile and turned on her heal to make her way towards the train.

My heart was pounding as I watched her, tentatively stepping toward the train. I refused to leave the platform until I had seen her and waved to her as the train drove off.

It was a few minutes until I saw her flaming red hair blowing in the wind as she shouted goodbye to me.

James and Albus weren't in her carriage, but I hoped they were nearby. They need to be nice to her this year, it's her first year and she often gets homesick.
