I was allowed out of hospital a week after my parents news. It wasn't too bad, but I felt trapped! I wanted to run around and play but no...
Then I remembered...
The dream I'd had about Scorpius! I didn't know whether to tell anyone until I reached the common room.People from all different years had gathered in to the cosy room with a cake in the centre and a banner hanging from the ceiling that read
"Welcome back Lily!"
I knew then that I couldn't say anything to anyone. They'd gone to this much effort to put a party together and I knew it would be rude to storm in and start shouting about Scorpius. So I sat back and let myself have fun.
Cody sat in the corner of the room in a brown plush armchair. He was talking to a second year, his wavy blonde hair fell against his forehead. He swept it off subconsciously and laughed at whatever the boy was saying.
All of a sudden i had the urge to go over there. After all we were friends.
Before I could think about it Hannah had grabbed my arm as she scurried past me and we both fell into the faux fur bean bags that lay in front of the fire (adjacent to Cody)
"Hey lil. Are you feeling better?" He asked, a slight grin played upon his face.
"I'm good" I replied "just trying to stay out of the hospital wing"
"Glad to here it." He winked at me and grabbed a pack of cards.
"Wanna game?" He asked
"Always" I hurried to add.The game seemed to go on for 5 minutes but before I knew it the clock above the entrance chimed to tell us it was 10pm which is the time we have to be in bed for. I looked around and the common room was nearly empty. Without noticing, everybody had left!
"Oops" I laughed
"Time flies when you're having fun lil" Cody smiled
A yawn escaped me and I jumped to my feet. He did the same and walked me to the stairwell that led to the girls dorms.
"See you in the morning" he whispered so as to not disturb people upstairs
"Night" I said in return
I turned around slowly and skipped upstairs without turning back. When I got to the room everybody was in their pyjamas busying themselves. Hannah was painting Leah's nails, Willow and Nala were sitting opposite each other on Willow's bed drawing each other, and Penny was reading on her bed.
Nobody looked at me when I opened the door, so I grabbed my pyjamas and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I walked out nothing had changed so I sat on my bed and grabbed two bobbles from my bedside table and my comb. I loved having my hair in French plaits, it always looked so neat.
When I was done every eye in the room was on me.
"You've been acting weird since you got back from the hospital" Nala started
"Yeah. What's wrong?" Willow added
Everyone looked puzzled so I felt I had to explain. It was the least I could do. They were my friends.
And so I did. I told them about the dream id had of Scorpius and when I was finished they were all shocked, but they understood. Every one of their parents had gone to school with my mum and dad. All except from Hannah that isn't. Her parents are muffles, so she looked extra shocked.
"I'm tired guys. Can we talk about this in the morning?" I yawned again
Everybody murmured in agreement and Leah hopped up to turn off the light switch.
I pulled the covers up from beneath me and fluffed up my pillow. Before I knew it I was asleep and away from the drama for a little while...
