Me and Nala walked down the mischievous moving staircases together, and managed to get lost twice. Nala was devastated, but n thought it was quite an achievement. Teddy had told me that he got lost on the staircases 9 times on his first day.
Eventually we made it down to the great hall, where breakfast was already on the tables. We sat down next to a second year. She smiled politely to is and carried on her conversation.
The food here was amazing! It was only breakfast, and I had had that choice of eggs (fried, poached, boiled, or scrambled), Toast (French or Normal), any cereal imaginable, sausages (over 10 varieties of flavours), beans, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried potatoes, and every condiment that exists. The house elves out do themselves in all manors. I made a mental note to go to the kitchen and tell them how good they are. At 8:30 all of the food disappeared, and the headmaster told us it was time for us to prepare for our classes that started at 9. Everybody filed out of the hall, past the hourglasses of jewels that represented our house points, and back to their common rooms to grab any books they needed. Nala grabbed my wrist and pulled me up towards the staircase. There were people everywhere, and my eyes were flicking everywhere trying to take it all in. Then all of a sudden, I felt a foot hook around mine, causing me to topple to the floor and hit my head. Pain sliced through my skull. I sat up and raised my hand to my head. Looking at it, crimson red blood dropped down my index finger. Everyone around me was looking in all directions trying to see who did it. Nala took my hand and pulled me up.
"C'mon" she was leading me up a few more flights of stairs, but I was starting to get dizzy and every thing was very hazy.
"Wait a sec" I muttered to her. That was all I remembered before waking up in the hospital wing in my pyjamas. Nobody was around and I felt alone tears rolled out of my eyes and down the sides of my face.
"Now,now deary" Madam Pomfrey had walked in and started explaining what had happened after I blacked out. "You blacked out on the 2nd floor, so your little friend had to get help from a 5th year to carry you up here. Then once you were here, I fixed that gash on your head. It's a deep one. You must have hit it off a statue, because it's about 2 inches deep. You're obviously suffering from concussion, because you fainted and you're looking a little groggy. Do you feel sick?"
I nodded slowed, and she passed me a bowl.
"Okay, we you've been asleep for a while, it's 4 O'clock now and I'd like to keep you in for observation, because if you get dizzy again it could be worrying . Okay, do you want anything from your room?"
"Um I have a book on my pillow that I would like to read, and my glasses. My eyesight isn't the best. Oh and also my teddy. He helps me sleep and if I'm ill I won't be able to without him."
She nodded her head and clicked her fingers. A small house elf appeared wearing a pale rag as a dress. My heart melted for her, and I smiled sympathetically.
"Ah Dolly, this is Lily Potter-"
"Mr Harry Potters daughter?"
"Yes" I interjected
"I hope this isn't out of line Miss Potter, but I would like to say that what your father has been through is amazing, and how he rescued all of the wizard world from what would have been the darkest time ever. And you are named after an extremely courageous young woman who lost her own life protecting your father"
I was crying now, and what this house elf had said moved me so much. I could t being myself to speak, so I nodded gratefully.
"Thank you Dolly, now then... Miss Potter would like her book, her glasses, and a stuffed animal named Henry."
"I can do that ma'am I'll be back in a flash"
She was only gone two minutes before she returned with my belongings, and a slice of apple and blackberry pie.
"Shh don't tell Madam Pomfrey"
I giggled quietly and ate my pie, then handed the plate back to her and bidding her farewell. I put my glasses on, and took my contact lenses out. Then snuggled into bed with Henry in the crook of my arm. Tomorrow should be better...
