Dead or alive?

Realising the lies

As I sat in the corner thinking about what I had just heard, I pictured my mum and dad and how much fun we had. I miss them so much.

"I don't know where this virus is. the only thing I have from my parents is this locket but it has only a picture of me, my mum and my dad inside."

"May I look at that locket?" asked James.

As I pass it over to him, I catch the look on his face and he has that look as if he knows something. I hate that look as you don't know what they are thinking. Suddenly, making me jump so high I swear I saw across town, he spoke in a very understanding voice.

"I would like to take this back to the BN and have it looked at. would you please come with me?"

Hastily walked towards him and shut the front door. As I looked up, I saw a large black limo - now this is my type of ride.

Later we arrived at the lab and Nikki (the women in charge) took my locket and James and her went off. I wanted to follow but I wasn't allowed. Whilst try were off doing the tests they need, I gazed around the lab looking and all of the high technology. It was amazing! The room looked huge as it was coated I white paint.

He came back around 5 mins later with a big smile on his face.

"Your locket has a secret. It is the virus that you mum and dad were looking after, but it is locked and we don't know oh to open it. Do you know how?"

I replied shockingly "Yes I do"

I hastily grabbed the locket but was reluctant to open it. What if it isn't in there? what if it is in there? Every thing will change. as I open the locket a loud screeching sound emerges and I shut it strait away. suddenly a clock appears on the top and starts counting down. 48 hours 30 mins! It's like what you see in the movies. I drop the locket straight away and walk backwards keeping my distance from the explosive time bomb. James hastily walked towards the locket; watching it like a hawk. He bends down to pick it up... nothing! it just carries on ticking.

"We have 48 hours and 30 minutes... nope 29 minutes until that locket had lost all of its data."

"What should we do?" I reply with great enthusiasm but also worried ness in my voice.

"I don't know. is there anything your parents left behind or any clues on how to solve this puzzle?"

What doesn't she get about me not having anything apart from the... wait! my nan used to tell me about the adventures of my mum and dad all the time. Especially when I was younger to get me to sleep.

"My nan used to tell me about my parents adventures there might be something hidden in there adventure?"

The look on their face suggested that I was leading them somewhere.

"There must be" yelled Nikki in a suppressing tone. "I'll get all the equipment and you, James and a team will go on these adventures and try and find clues on how to stop the locket from whipping the data!"

"What!? wait I am gonna miss school and I have exams and and..."

"Don't worry! You will have plenty of time to catch up on things. now go, go things ready!"
