Dead or alive?

Awkward

I feel myself leaning closer and the butterflies welling up in my stomach. His eyes are the deepest blue. Suddenly I hear someone shout at us...

"Get up you two! there is no time for lying around we are on a strict schedule and need to keep moving!" yelled the commanding officer.

As soon as we hear this frightful command, we jump up and walk rapidly to catch up with the rest of our crew. I decided to walk with my Friends Charley and Amy. Charley had lushous long, brown hair with emerald green eyes and Amy had short, blonde hair with deep brown eyes. They both had an amazing figure and I swear they can keep up with all the boys - fitness wise! Now that is an achievement as most of them are really buff!

As I approach them, they both give me a suspicious look as I have an enormous grin planted on my face.

"So how did your little 'incident' go with Zack huh?" exclaimed Amy.

"I just fell over nothing happened!" I replied.

"Yes something did happen cause we saw you two on the floor and you were fixed to each other" said Charley whilst prodding me in the stomach.

"Okay so maybe something happened! But what ever it was, it felt magical. I have never had that feeling before! It's like when you open a present at Christmas when you are a child!"

"Somebody has a crush and can't control it!" Shouted Amy and Charley together. It was really embarrassing.

So maybe I do have a crush on Zack but nothing will happen cause it's me we are on about here.

Ever since we arrived at the base, me and Zack have been giving each other little glances every now and then. But our little moments keep getting interrupted by someone asking some stupid question.

After about 2 hours of searching for something, we finally have a signal on our radar and we set if straight away. We all got partnered up and luckily I was partnered with Zack. We work so well together so naturally we should be together... not for any other reason of corse.

We said nothing on our way to the place located I the radar. I think we found it too awkward. I mean we nearly kissed for crying out loud! Who wouldn't find that awkward? Any way. We arrived, finally, at the location and started searching for something. We don't know what but it was defiantly something.

I wondered away from the crowd as I though we were never going to find it if we all crowded in our spot. As I ventured of I was accompanied by Zack. I was happy about this because I wanted to see if he felt the same way I did when we have that moment earlier.

"So how are you?" he asked.

"Good! just really tired from all of-" I was cut old my a very enthusiastic response.

"Did I like it when you fell on top of me earlier?"

As bazaar a question (even though that was what I was dying to ask!) as it was, I tried to respond...

"Urm... I well... I sort of liked it but I don't have to if you don't want me too!" That was a stupid response! why did I say that last part I mean seriously. how deluded do you have to be.

"No it's fine! I sort of liked it too! if that's okay with you?"

I could hear the nervousness in his voice which was kinda cute.

"I don't mind either."

After that there was a defining silence. it was kind of awkward.

I reluctantly broke the silence with "Look at us. we can't even say one word to each other because we are so nervous. look lets just be friends but get to know each other better, yeah?"

"Sure. that sounds good!" Zack replied very happily.

I like the way things are working out. It's nice for once as I have only studied and hung out with my friends. I never really payed attention to boys apart from Izaak (who we have known since year 3). Hopefully it will stay like this.
