Blind Date

2nd Date

"Beh! Ano na natulala ka na sa kagandahan ko?"

Naningkit ang mata ni Ari. She never imagined that this night would happen. Nakailang dates na rin kasi sya and she never expected to meet someone who fakes himself just like her on a date.

Well, not that she could do it just like him. He acted like he has been keeping it for so long.

Or unless. . .he's just acting like it just so that she couldn't be embarassed.

But she's definitely not.

May sarili nang mundo ang lalaki. (or gay she's not sure yet.) He's raising an eyebrow towards her. Nakabali ang kaliwang kamay habang nakapatong ang kanan sa lamesa. Making a face.

"Stop." She told him in an authoritative manner.

"Stop what?" Maarte nitong sabi.

It was close, she's impressed.

"Stop acting like you're one of us."

Muling napanganga ang lalaki sa kanya. "What? Bitch I am not acting gay I am gay! I was acting straight." Umirap ito at umupo ng dikwatro. Pointed his middle finger to trace his eyebrows.

Damn.

Parehas silang natahimik. Everything was just too overwhelming to take immediately. Nang biglang nanlaki ang mata ng ka-date out of nowhere at sumigaw. Making the other guests look at them. Tinaasan lang nito ang mga iyon ng kilay. They all continued eating and shut their mouths, taking hold of their curiosity.

"O m g! Baka naman ikaw ang nagkukunwaring beki dyan ah. Para lang makaalis. Bakit? May jowa ka na ba?"

She couldn't believe it. Napasapo sya sa mukha. Confirmed. Confirmed na confirmed. Her blind date tonight was different from every other dates she had. Her date was a gay. This, is what her aunt says the 'it'.

"Does she knew?"

Kumunot ang noo nito. "Knew what? Who?"

"My aunt. Alam nya bang. . ." She made a gesture. "Ganito ka?"

Umiling ito ng todo. "No. Why would she set you up on a date with a gay?"

"I don't know," nagkibit balikat sya. "Maybe because she thinks dating a gay would make me straight."

Napaisip sya. It's possible. If a man can't do it, maybe her aunt thinks a gay can. It's crazy. But her aunt's crazy that it seems like a normal thing. She was surprised yes but this is another thing she should've speculated to happen.

"So lesbian ka talaga?"

She nodded.

"Don't you think it's weird naman if she's going to make me date you just to make you straight? I mean, we're both LGBTs'."

She sighed. Crossed her arms. "I think she thinks you are too girly enough to influence me. She didn't set me up on a blind date. She may set me up on a hang out to have another kikay friend aside from her."

Wala kasi sya masyadong kaibigan. Mostly sa mga kaibigan nya ay lalaki. Ang iba ay boyish, na papunta na sa tomboy na kasali rin sa mga kaibigan nya. She knew eversince elementary what she wants. She just confirmed and embraced it when she was on junior high.

Umirap ang baklang nasa harapan nya. "Beh, imposible talaga."

"What do you mean?"

"Ang bestfriend ko ang nagset up sakin para makipag blind date. Ang tita mo ang nakausap nya. Imposibleng maisip ng tita mo na bakla ako kasi jusko beh tagal ko nang tinatagong bakla ako sa bestfriend ko dahil lalayuan nya ko." Sabi nito bago uminom ng tubig. Nakataas pa ang pinky finger.
