Oceanus ran through the clouds of green smoke, he was tired of the irrational training that his mentor decided was fit for him. He was the only one brave enough to step up to the Sea Titan, which showed that he was a powerful and reckless person. The Titans perceptive eyes which held the entire ocean hardened, glaring at every trap he somehow managed to get wrapped up in. Once every few weeks his mentor would grant him an easy task of training, easy, he scoffed. No way in Tartarus this was easy.
He was the Titan ruling the Sea, there was almost no chance that he was going to go down willingly. He was the eldest Titan- to the public. His mentor was almost his twin, sea green eyes, albeit soft, charcoal hair and sarcastic tendencies. But his mentor was oh so different, his mentor was kind, never to harden his heart. And that's what made him weak in hiding his emotions.
Oceanus gasped, close to collapsing as he towered over the finish line. He felt a rough hand ruffle his jet black hair. Smiling, he nudged his mentor and questioned, "How did I do?"
"Well, although you did not try your best." The hand intoned- wait, his mentor. "It's late, so I'll forgive you but I expect no slacking from here on, understand?" He swatted the youngest's head.
"Why don't you come with me? Meet our siblings, live at home without dwelling in your... eccentric home." Oceanus whined, tired of his brother's antics.Percy looked at him, "I don't have experience with a family, therefore I'm unable to understand nor cope with one, besides, you are the eldest, start acting like it." He sniffed, this being the fifth time today he's been invited to meet his brothers. "Besides, Tartarus has always been my home, the darkness is my family, I can't just up and leave because I wish to 'visit family'. The evil trinity would send hounds after me."
Oceanus gawked at him, not apprehending Perseus' lonesomeness. He suddenly heard two pairs of subdued footsteps tapping against the crisp grass. A pair of kittens appeared one green and one whose fur was near gold. Aithne and Muriel, they were given to Percy as gifts from the Celtic Gods who adored him.
Percy sighed, "I guess it's time for you to head home, I'll take you there since Gaia is absent. Maybe I'll even question whether I am to meet your family or not. Depends on what is expected of me today. After all, you never shut up about your brothers, it's reached the point where it's vexing."His younger brother glowered at him, eyes hard and pinching. Oceanus was known to be unpredictable, yet whenever he was with his brother, Percy always knew what Oceanus' next move was. This was proven as he decided to pound his brother in the face and failed as Perseus swirled out of his way and smacked him over the head again.
Percy thumped his foot down onto the ground and his traps evaporated as if they were never there. The kittens watched curiously before settling into fighting positions, suddenly tumbling down the steep hill at speeds unachievable by the human race. Wisps of dirt flew up into the air on their journey to the base. After all, these kittens were no real kittens, they were spirits of warriors who died noble and disreputable deaths. They were the size of grown tigers, proud in their size and strength.
Oceanus marvelled about his brothers. Kronos, the youngest, had only recently gained his domains, Harvest and Time. He knew that the youngest was to be stronger than all of the Titans. Yet, he did not mind if something were to go wrong, Perseus would right his wrongs as the overseer of the Titans and as their big brother.
But for now, Kronos was quiet. He was scarcely heard over their brothers, just watching from the background. The Titan of the Sea pondered when his littlest brother was going to snap, taking over the entirety of the Titans as the only ruler. Oceanus could bet that he was saving up his energy for something big, bigger than any previous events other than the creation of Gaia.
It was bound to happen, rulers being toppled off their thrones and such thrones having a new owner. Percy had to be careful, Oceanus thought. If one of the Titans were to find out about the existence of Percy, both of them would be in trouble, Oceanus for lying, Perseus for existing without their knowledge. Iapetus would be majorly pissed, being ruthless to Percy until the end of his existence.
"What do you think you're doing? Slacking off and venturing to your own little world inside your head, it's time for you to go home." Percy interrupted abruptly. "Time isn't going to wait for you, get moving before someone discovers you and you're punished for your tardiness. For the known eldest, I'd have expected you to know better. Stupid Titans."
"You're a Titan too you know, you aren't an exception from us," Oceanus muttered, clearly done with his brother's attitude for today. Stifling a sigh, he stood, although shakily. "I really don't want to put up with Hyperion and Iapetus messing around, arguing, fighting. The usual. It gets tiring after time, which is why I asked you to come home and visit. I didn't even ask you to stay for dinner, but your stubborn self would deny regardless," He grunted.Percy laughed, "Farewell brother, I hope to see you again soon." He disappeared into a flash of multi-chrome particles, essentially blinding Oceanus who glared at the spot the Titan stood previously.
Another flash lit up the forest as the Sea Titan took his leave and arrived home, his home. He huffed, dealing with his siblings was impossible while his mother was gone. Whenever Oceanus was home while Gaia was out, he would read until dawn or train in the arena. Anything else, he thought unimportant to his life.
Oceanus sat down on his bed after dropping his aquatic sword onto the table beside him. He could distinctively hear Krios and Koios discussing battle strategies in the background along with Iapetus and Hyperion slamming each other into anything they found fit. His sisters were out with his mother, learning the basics of the land, and suitable terrains to form kingdoms and civilisations without having to damage the terrain around them. It was a good idea but having Gaia decide that he was fit to supervise his younger siblings while they were gone was the complete opposite.
He looked out of his window, watching the river below as naiads wove the seaweed and cleared the path. He swore they were picky for if a single thing was out of place they would right it immediately, having no care of the world around them.
If only I was free, just like them without important responsibilities that could affect the whole world, he thought before drifting off to sleep.
