TWO WEEKS LATER...
A loud buzz went through the new Avengers base upstate as people where putting things away and throwing other things out. It was a happy day for some who could relax , but the Avengers weren't there yet.
Banner was still missing, they haven't been able to finish tracking the quinjet. For all they knew, he was dead.
Clint retired, went home to his family. He reminded Nadia his invitation about coming to the farm. Nadia told him she would, sooner or later.
Pietro was gone. The boy has been buried about two weeks ago. Both Maximoff sisters were still heartbroken, but they were healing slowly. Nadia had became a bit more interactive with others and Wanda had talked to Vision more.
Thor was leaving on a mission to find the 'Infinity Stones.' He left quickly by soaring into the sky, but not before he had an interesting conversation with Stark and Steve.
"The rules have changed." Steve told Thor, they were trying to convince him that it meant nothing when Vision lifted up the hammer. "We're dealing with something new." Tony nodded.
"The Vision is artificial intelligence."
"A machine."
"So, it doesn't count?" Steve asked. "No, it's not like a person lifting the hammer." Tony resolved. Steve nodded, "Right, different rules for us." He gestured to Tony and himself.
"Nice guy. Artificial." Tony commented. "Thank you." Steve replied looking over at Thor.
"He can wield the hammer, he can keep the Mind Stone. It's safe with the Vision. And these days, safe is in short supply."
There was a moment of silence. "But if you put the hammer in an elevator..." Steve thought out loud. "It would still go up." Tony remarked, gesturing to Steve.
"Elevator's not worthy." Steve shrugged, looking towards the ground. Thor chuckled, grabbing Tony on the shoulder. "I'm gonna miss these little talks of ours."
"So don't go." Tony told him, hoping his friend would stay. "I have no choice. The mind stone is the fourth of the infinity stones to show up in the last few years. It's not a coincidence."
"Someone has been playing an intricate game and has made pawns of us. And once all these pieces are in position..." he continued.
"Triple Yahtzee." Tony interrupted. "You think you can find out what's coming?" Steve asked the god. "I do. Besides this one," He tapped Tony on the chest gently. "There's nothing that can't be explained." He bid them a quick farewell before using his hammer and flying off into the sky.
"That man has no regard for lawn maintenance." Tony sighed, looking at the ground which had a burnt symbol in it. "I'm gonna miss him though. And you're gonna miss me. There's gonna be a lot of manful tears." Tony chuckled, getting into the car on the drive way.
"I will miss you, Tony." Steve replied, looking through the window. "Yeah? Well, it's time for me to tap out. Maybe I should take a page out of Barton's book. Build Pepper a farm, hope nobody blows it up."
"The simple life."
"You'll get there one day." Tony promised Steve. "I don't know. Family, stability... The guy who wanted all that went in the ice 75 years ago. I think someone else came out." Steve chuckled weakly.
"You all right?"
"I'm home."
Tony grinned and drove off to his own retirement leaving Cap standing there watching. He sighed and turned back around, heading into the building.
He found Natasha standing and staring at a wall. "You want to keep staring at that wall or get to work? I mean, it's a pretty interesting wall." He teased her. She rolled her eyes and walked towards him.
"Thought you and Tony were still gazing into each others eyes." She grabbed the tablet from him, tapping the screen. "How do we look?"
"Well, we're not the twenty seven Yankees." Steve admitted.
"We've got some hitters." Natasha nodded in agreement. "They're not a team." He pointed out, Natasha shrugged.
"Well, Let's shape them into one."

There was little talk in the room full of people. Nadia stared out the window, wishing she had her brother to talk to. She felt lonely as her sister was talking to the Vision, but she felt there was something going on here and decided not to get in the way of it.
Nadia continued to think about her brother when he appeared next to her. Nadia jumped, looking around the room to see if anyone was seeing what she was. No one seemed phased. She turned back towards her brother. He winked at her, gesturing her to be quiet.
"I'm always here, Nadia." He grinned and disappeared, just like an illusion. Nadia glanced at her hands, shocked. Could she actually talk to Pietro even though he was dead?
The doors opened causing Nadia to lose her train of thought. She turn around to see Steve and Natasha enter the room. The room was full of people ready to become an Avenger.
She glanced around recognizing Rhodey's suit and seeing the Vision. She didn't recognize a new man with a wing machine as he landed. She assumed he was a friend of Steve.
Wanda floated down next to her sister. Both of them smiled at one another before turning their gaze towards Steve and Natasha.
Nadia lifted her chin up high, a smile appearing on her face. This was it. She was going to continue to help save the world.
Steve looked over the group, planning something. The team needed a little work but he was sure it was nothing Natasha and him couldn't fix. His eyes met Nadia's and he winked. "Avengers." He yelled out, confident in their new future.
Assemble.
