Brendon's POV

On the day Ryan got enrolled in public school I was informed I could graduate early. My old school was at a more advanced level than this one so I was actually taking senior classes. I moved just after Christmas but not before break was over so I was able to start at the beginning of the second semester. Meaning that I was graduating very soon, as was Ryan because he was actually a senior.

During the last few months of school Ryan was practically my body guard. Dallon left me alone for the most part because Ryan literally knocked some sense into him. There were days that Ryan couldn't go to school because his mom needed him and that was when Dallon would take his chance to push me around. He didn't even try to hide the fact he was beating me up from Ryan. In fact, I think he wanted Ryan to see it. I would leave bruises in the most visible places. It didn't happen all that often and Ryan always took care of me afterwards so it wasn't the most horrible few months.

So here we are, first day of summer, well first day of the rest of our lives actually, and everything is perfect. Well almost everything, me and Ryan are still just friends but that won't be the situation for long. I have a plan. There's always a summer parade that takes place the first Saturday of summer. Yes, it's Saturday today but they don't consider the day after school ends the first day of summer for some reason. Well I'm gonna take Ryan to the parade, because he's a sweetheart and taught me how to drive, and after it's over I'm gonna take him to this spot by the river we found and made our place. At that place I'm gonna pop the question. I feel like we've gotten really close over the past few months and we're ready for a relationship. Our feelings have only gotten stronger and honestly it's already pretty much impossible to keep our hands off each other. We're always holding hands or cuddling. There hasn't been anymore kissing because we both finally figured out how to respect the "just friends" idea.

Ryan and I are laying in my bed, this isn't that rare because we go to my house almost everyday after school. Wednesday's and for Ryan and his mom only so that's why it's almost everyday. Well that and the fact I kinda love Ryan's mom so we hang out at his house some days too. Anyway, we're all cuddled up in my bed rewatching episodes of Criminal Minds when I get a random text. I still haven't really made any more friends. There's Jon and Spencer, the only other out teen in our school, but we don't usually talk outside of school. I gave them my number and they gave me theirs but even still they're in my contacts so there's no way it's from them.

Unknown: I'm sorry for what happened at school. If you're not busy I'd like to actually sit down and talk to you about stuff. Even if you say no just know I really am sorry.

Ryan noticed my phone buzz and he read the message with me.

"Who do you think it is? And how did they get your number?"

I stop to think, wracking my brain. "I mean it might be Dallon. He's really the only one who has anything to be sorry for. I never gave him my number though."

We both decided it was best to just ask who it was to avoid any confusion.

Brendon: Who is this?

Unknown: Come to the park  right around the corner of your street and you'll see. If you're really that uncomfortable with it you can bring Ryan.

"Should we? Would you wanna go with me?"

I honestly really am a little scared to go by myself so having Ryan there would be amazing. He gives me a little smile and a nod before squeezing my hand in reassurance.

Brendon: Fine, we'll be there in five minutes. Be there or be square

I giggle at my own goofy attempt at threatening someone and Ryan giggles with me before pressing a kiss to my forehead. We both get up and get our shoes on before going to my car, which my mom finally decided to buy for me.
