"how much longer?" his gravelly voice said.
hueningkai looked away, not liking being put in such an uncomfortable situation to use his ability that he himself wasn't even fully in control to use yet.
a loud bang came from the man who stood in front of him, him throwing a glass vase on the floor.
"i said, how much longer?" he looked disheveled, hair dry and matted, cheeks sunken in, and his posture slouched. his wife stood beside him weakly, as if any sudden air would blow her away.
he'd brought his wife over to kai's house, the doctors not giving the male a for sure answer. his wife and kai's mother were long time friends, the only reason why he knew about his abnormality.
kai turned towards her, she looked so weak, it really made him sad how he was determining the death of one of the important female figures in his life. the amethyst eyes that glowed whenever she saw her husband were now a dull, boring green.
flashes of her fate went through his mind, making his head spin as he tried to grasp the main concept of them all.
images came to his mind, a few more prominent than others, but most being mixed in with one another, him not being able to get any more details than a cause and a general time frame.
she stared back, pale and weary to hear his answer as he shut his eyes before blinking quickly, him developing a migraine.
the entire room went silent as he opened his mouth to speak the next few words that would determine how she spent the rest of her short, unfulfilling, life.
the only sound that could be heard was the ticking of the wall clock a few feet away, dramatically adding the unneeded suspense.
"two days, cause of death, leukemia."
