"there's no way that you can ask her out dude, she even rejected wooyoung. wooyoung."
kai sat in chemistry with his friends, them currently going over the material as the teacher conversated with a weary student.
"soojin, don't doubt him." juhui said, knowing good and well that hueningkai did best when he was doubted.
once, none of them believed that he would eat seven cups of ramen noodles in ten minutes, and he did out of competitiveness. he had a very bad stomachache, threw up the next day and still had the taste in his mouth for a week- but nonetheless he still ate the convenience store meals.
"hyung," he said, seeing juhui on his phone, and their crabby teacher walking towards them. kai quickly threw his legs over the older's lap, knocking the phone out of his hands and under his legs.
after the elderly woman passed them and walked away, he felt a tingling sensation through his body.
looking around to see if anyone else felt it, he noticed everyone seemed to be laughing and joking around as usual. kai looked back at the teacher and a small, timid voice whispered in his head.
'she'll die soon, i give her five weeks max.'

the entire rest of the day, the young male spent his time being paranoid, theorizing, or trying to make excuses for the voice. maybe it was juhui or one of the guys, he'd thought, but that voice was unfamiliar.
maybe even it was his imagination, he tried to reason. he had been reading tons of syfy novels lately.
nonetheless, he knew that something was off but waved it off. he was being crazy, it was nothing.
"mom, im home!" he placed his bookbag on the floor, taking his black hightop converse off, revealing his purple striped socks.
"hueningkai, pick that backpack up and put it in your room." she yelled back from the kitchen, where he could smell something delicious cooking.
kai scratched his head. "how did she...?" he mumbled to himself before following her orders and hopping down the stairs when he was done.
"wash your hands, dinners almost ready." she said softly, angry tone now gone.
the 16 year old washed his hands, awaiting the dinner his mother would serve.
