"jinyeo, you can't be serious! he's abnormal, not special. don't you find it a little weird? that your own son can see when you'll die?"

hueningkai heard the screams through the walls of his room as he sat on his bed calmly, looking at his fingernails that were growing a bit longer than they usually were.

he knew it when his mom was hiccuping in the next room.

he knew it once she hung up the phone.

he knew it when his 'dad' left his mom's room.

so the words she spoke with utter tenderness seemed like a facade to him.

"k-kai, im sending you away."

;

it had been two months since their three hour long conversation. it mostly consisted of him yelling through his tears as she desperately tried to convince him that it was for his own good.

"you'll love it at seoul international college preparatory institution of youth, togetherness, and awareness, the official worldwide academy of the gifted, honored, and talented! it's a bit of a mouthful, but you'll catch on in no time!"

kai slammed the door in her face and cried into his bunny pillow for the rest of the night.

how could she do this to him? why?

she was his only son, so why couldn't she have put up a better argument? she simply let them tell her to get rid of her only child, and she obeyed, just like that?

he couldn't believe it.

it's a trick, he had thought for the first two weeks.

it was up until he caught his mom filling out applications and setting up a date to tour the school did he realize that she was actually going through with it.

she was always a bit of a pushover, but seriously?

"yes, i can fit that into my schedule. anytime after three would work!"

"six forty-five? perfect." she grinned into the phone, not noticing her son standing at the doorway of her office.

placing the phone down, hueningkai didn't wait for jinyeo to turn around before he dashed into his room and slammed the door shut, not worrying about the vase that fell on the floor.
