The rest of the week passed smoothly and Ad got the jeep from dad. My fate was sealed and I had to spend four days near him.
Finally! Friday was here.
I had packed up in the morning and so had Nessa.
It didn't help that the guys had to come along. Seriously Ad, so much for loving your nerdy introvert small sister."Hey Paigey, I'll pick you and Nessa up after school. Please don't make me late."
"Can I please know who else is coming along?" I ask heading to the lockers with him right behind me. I guess I was hoping you know who had backed out for some reason.
"Just Zayne, Marco and I. No need to get nervous, l'l sis."
"Why does he have to come?" I groaned to myself and Ad chuckled. So much for the support.
He kissed me on the forehead and went ahead to meet his fellow zoo animals.
I spotted Zayne amongst them eyeing me. The second our eyes locked, he looked away and continued listening to whatever subject they were roaring about. Freaking perfect!"C'mon Paigey, stop shooting daggers at the poor guy. You know you might kill him someday." Nessa hugs me from nowhere.
"Hey! Did you just call him poor? What are you? Blind?" I complain as we walk to class. I love Fridays. Reason? I get to have all my favorite classes.
"Sorry, sweetie but you do realize that he is the hottest thing you have ever laid your eyes on, right? Tell you what. We finish our classes today, get in that jeep your hot brother drove to school and have ourselves the best weekend ever," she tries to reason.
I agree since I don't want to ask how it will be the best weekend if at all Zayne is tagging along. Am so doomed. (mental facepalm)How the hell am I supposed to ignore him while there are just three other people around? Don't forget that two of them keep clawing each other's faces off and the other one is a jock addicted to gaming and I secretly have a crush on.
"Earth to Paigey! I know what you're thinking and no, you are not allowed to worry. You can pull this off and prove to him that a nerdy girl can also be a crazy ass bitch!" Nessa says as we take our seats and our Chemistry teacher comes in.
"Nessa....., "I try to warn her but she gives me the don't-you-dare-say-the-word-language look which makes me shut up and start to pay attention to the teacher. I love chemistry. Not as much as maths but it's definitely a fave. Biology isn't, though. Something about organs and blood and body systems irritates me, though both Ad and Nessa think it's amazing. What can I say? I don't want to land in the theatre.
Back to class. I really tried to listen and told my mind to focus but twas of no use since that idiot was determined to annoy the nerves out of me. Hate is a small word for what I feel towards him rynna. I secretly, well not anymore because I just told you now, wish that he could just disappear one cold morning and never be found. It's kinda harsh but you can't possibly blame me.I generally gain nothing from my 3 classes. All thanks to that son of a woman who kept locking eyes whenever we were in the hallways. As if that wasn't enough, Ad decided to be an idiot.
Crazy! That's the only word that can describe my foolish brother as of now.
Yes! 100% crazy!Yeah, right. I know you're wondering what Ad did.
Lemme start from where my bad weekend started. Yep! The friggin' bell rang marking the end of our detention, which Booker didn't attend, may I add. I packed up and left the class. Of course, Nessa was waiting for me at my locker, her face literally glowing. Damn! Isn't she a bundle of joy!
"C' mon. Time to forget the books for four nights and four days. You ought to smile a little. Pretty please," she tried when I just rolled my eyes.
A whole weekend with my abnormal almost shy introvert ways. Here goes nothing. I huff.
As Nessa and I walked out of school, I spotted the boys already beside the solo parked jeep, if you leave out the suicide object beside it.
"I asked you not to be late. Can you ever be on time for once in your life?" Ad complains.
"As long as you'll never love me less no matter how late I am, am afraid I will always be late," I reply cockily wrapping my arms around him and ruffling his hair.
"Don't touch my hair," he whines. "Stop being a baby," I move away headed to the passenger seat. I hear Marco chuckle and Ad, as expected, throws him a look that spells murder out loud.
"I thought we were taking the jeep only," Nessa asked when Zayne straddled his death machine.
"Zayne refuses to leave his bike behind. Oh no, Punkin. You are riding with Zayne. He doesn't know the way. You gotta go with him.""What? Why? He can just follow the jeep!" I exclaim.
"Am sorry but he calls it a dragging machine. His speed is way higher and cooler, if you ask me," Ad shrugs. "No, I didn't ask you," I retort," Why can't he go with Nessa? She knows the way too, right?"
"No! I don't!" she said way louder than needed.
"But why me? Why can't you just go with him? He's your best friend!"
" Yeah, my best friend, not boyfriend. Last time I checked, I am straight. C'mon Punkin, just go."
I looked in between Ad and Nessa and couldn't believe they were so desperate to ditch me. I mean, how hard is it to say 'Paige, we are tired of having you around so just go die!' Harsh and dramatic, I know, but it's way better than being put up with these disgusting human that I've been trying to avoid. Both you and I know he's not in the least way disgusting. That's just you comforting yourself!
I roll my eyes and mutter a fine before locking eyes with the devil only to find him smirking at me!
I walk towards him feeling like am playing that slow motion part in a movie only this time am going to die for real!
"You've put up a good fight, princess. I gave you way lesser credit. I don't bite and you won't die," he says still smirking. He hands me the only helmet he has and watches as I struggle to put it on.
Really now? Why do I always have to do what Ad says? This is pure torture!
"Here," he offers to fix it. I avert my eyes from him to avoid losing myself in his! Instead, I focus on his death machine.
"Done," he whispers but still looks at me with an extreme intensity that has me using all my will power not to shudder. If he thinks for a second that am going to speak to him only because am stuck with him, well, he's got another thing coming.
"Oh! Don't try too much. You might have been avoiding me but you will talk eventually," he says once I straddle his machine.Cheese And Sprinkles!
Does he read minds?
"Hold on tight, princess."
The engine revs and he shoots out of the parking lot making me hold on tight around his torso. I could almost swear his body stiffened but that changed as fast as it happened. He increased the speed and went past red lights but I kept my mouth shut and my heart in it, just so that I didn't talk to him.My perseverance wore out when he took this sharp corner. I screamed for three reasons;
1. His speed was past terrifying.
2. Our left sides almost touched the road!
3. We were going the wrong way.
I hit his back repeatedly but he seemed not to mind since I heard him laugh. Just when I was about to ask where the heavens he was going, he took another turn and the came to an abrupt stop."Get off," he said grumpily.
"What? We are not there yet! Hell, I don't even know where the hell we are! What is wrong with you?"
He completely ignored me, parked his motorcycle and got off while I was still on it, only touching my knee with his boot. He adjusted his leather jacket and walked towards what looked like a forest.
"Where do you think you are going?"
Guess what?
Yeah, right!
He didn't answer. Just kept walking away.
Stupid me! Stupid Ad! Stupid Nessa!
Wait! Was I really going to remain in the middle of nowhere all by myself?
No way!"Wait!"
