Now wasn't the time for jokes, and Ariana had realized that too late. Luna wasn't lying about saving the world, wasn't she? For some reason, more catastrophes seemed to be erupting around the world. Too many to count. What should I do? I wish I could contact her? Yes, for some reason, Ariana wanted to contact the cold, grim angel who reeked of nobility and slight arrogance. After all, it seemed to be only her that kept Ariana sane.

"So. The halflings were sent?"

"What do you think?"

"So. The plan went smoothly, didn't it? Angela experimented on the humans and the halflings have been discovered by them?" The demon's lip curled into a sneer after saying the Angel's name.

"Yes."

"Very well then. Our plan is progressing smoothly. This world will soon be ours." The demon smiled wickedly, showing yellowed teeth. "Have fun trying to fix it, Angela."

"Is anything happening?"

"I can sense that the demons are on the move. They are planning something."

"Of course. And that will lead to no good. But, something has been bothering me. The halflings. Why are they even here? We gave up on the halfing project a long time ago. Unless...."

"Yes Luna. The demons may have sneaked into the laboratory and stole our information. Did they steal an angel?"

"I doubt it,"replied Luna thoughtfully, staring outside.

The Queen stared at the unyielding oak door and sighed. "Then what do you think they did?"

"Obviously something. But I am sure that they wouldn't go as far as to steal an Angel."

"They are demons. Who knows what they are up to in their spare time. Besides those halflings were literally plopped onto the border. Something is wrong. It doesn't make sense. The demons who placed them there would have disintegrated the moment they set foot on Holy Land."

Luna was quiet for a while. "But still. I know they didn't do it. They wouldn't. It would be breaking a law. And you said that they would have died the moment they reached  into Holy Land."

"Well, you do have a point. Then do you think that an Angel helped them?"

Luna's eyes narrowed as she processed this thought. An Angel helping Demons? Impossible. But still...

"Could be possible. Keep thinking about the matter. I have other things to do. Thanks once again."

The imprisoned angel sat there, thoughts rampaging through her head. She tried soothing the storm, however it would not be still.

Stephanie glanced at the clock once more. What will happen now? The Angel didn't seem to be coming anymore, and she doubted that Luna would even come. But Stephanie was used to things not working out her way. It had always been like that. She had long gave up on wishing and dreaming and hoping.
