Ch 11

Clint and I were playing video games while Thor and Steve watched in the living room when the front door opens.

"Hey guys I'm back! Who's car is that in the garage?" A voice asks.

Clint pauses the game while we hear footsteps approaching. The person walks in looking at us with a smile as they greet her, her eyes stop at me and I slowly get up.

"Oh my god...." She says putting her hands together covering her mouth as she was getting emotional.

"..Hey Aunt Pep." I say with a small smile.

She comes over to me wrapping her arms around my neck in a tight hug as I wrap my arms around her waist. Tony comes down the stairs seeing the interaction.

"Awww." He teases.

She backs away cupping my face in her hands. My eyes flash with a small smile.

"It really is you." She smiles then she smacks me upside the head.

"Ow Aunt Pep." I hiss a bit rubbing my head.

"Don't do that ever again! You can't just disappear for years without a trace!" She scolds me.

"Why didn't anybody tell me Y/N was here or that you found her?!" Pepper looks over at Tony.

"You were busy with business stuff babe I didn't want you to worry." Tony says then gives her a quick peck on the lips.

"Besides didn't you see the press conference?" He asks.

"Well yeah....YOU'RE APEX?!" She asks shocked looking towards me.

"Come on Aunt Pep I'm the only shapeshifter you know." I joke going back to sit down playing video games.

"Your name is Y/N?" Steve asks.

"*sighs* Not to ya'll." I chuckle making them shake their heads with a chuckle of their own.

"Honey can you help me with my bags to our room?" Pepper asks already knowing the answer.

"Yeah of course." Tony says and they leave.

*In their room*

"Tony she can't be an Avenger." Pepper tells him as they put her stuff down.

"Why not? She's amazing." Tony says.

"What about when she finds out Hydra is the reason for Harry's death? It'll get personal and she won't be able to complete missions without going out of control." Pepper says.

"She isn't going to find out. She doesn't even now what Hydra is." Tony says getting serious.

"Tony...you can't keep hiding things from her, you brought her here without her knowing the whole truth." Pepper says.

Tony stays quiet looking away.

"What about Harry? Since he's in Y/N's suit you don't think he'll tell her?" She continues.

"No, we agreed that we wouldn't tell her." He says making her sigh.

"What about Hydra? If they recognize her as the shapeshifter they were after she'll be in danger, we can't lose her again." She says worried.

"That's why Harry and I came up with the suit, when she has it on no one knows it's her. She has us to protect her too." He tells her but she is still unsure.

"Come on let's go downstairs so you can catch up with Y/N, but I'll warn you she goes by Apex now." He says rubbing her shoulders soothingly.
