In the silence of the common room, Harry told Hermione and Ron everything, Hermione was listening to him carefully, while Ron looked as if he was about to go up in flames, his face was red with anger and he was clutching his parchment in his hands so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
"I don't know what to do, and honestly I think I might be overreacting, it was just a kiss right?" He said as Ron threw the parchment away.
"No, Harry that dirty cockroach is going to pay for what he did, you just...stay away from him," Ron said.
"No, Ron, you're doing this all wrong," Hermione said, cutting him off" "So, Harry, do you think you might be interested in him?" He asked Harry.
"I-" Harry found himself at a loss for words, as he didn't have anything to tell Hermione, he hadn't given in much thought, did he, Harry Potter, actually wish to be in a relationship with Draco Malfoy? "I don't know, Hermione, I just...find him really intriguing"
"Okay, so are you sure, he likes boys, and was just not playing with you for, you know..." she asked him, her words angered Harry, and suddenly he could not bear to look at her.
"I don't know, Hermione, how would I know," He snapped "If he was only playing with me, that actually proves that I am a fool, doesn't it?"
"No, if he was just messing around, it proves that he is an insolent idiot," She told him, Harry could not help but smile at that.
After Hermione went to bed, and Ron zoned out on the common room couch. Harry started reminiscing what had happened on his first day back, had Draco really been playing with Harry? just to see if he could kiss him back or not so that he could make fun of him? But Draco had not made fun of Harry, instead, he acted as is nothing had happened, and somewhere, somehow, Harry knew that the kiss was genuine, maybe he was wrong and he was just letting Draco mess with his head but maybe he was right and Harry was just not able to understand what exactly had gone wrong. Did he do something?
Harry recalled the sudden shock when Draco had pulled away in a hast and pretended as if he was going to hit Harry, but the appearance of Professor McGonagall has explained everything, Harry still wondered why did Draco so desperately want no association with Harry, it was likely to be because Draco and Harry had never been on good terms, enemies as they call it, but Harry always had this feeling of being drawn to Draco, Harry often found himself staring at his smooth, snowy hair, his grey eyes and even his lips. Did Draco ever feel the same way?
The white and snow-covered land stretched for as far as Draco's eyes could see, and the sky was a dark red blotch, almost blood-like. He has never been more scared in his entire life, he felt as if he was going to lose everything, even himself. He knew that he could not run away, that running was a waste of energy, but he still ran as fast as he could, to save himself. He knew his end was inevitable.
"You know better than anyone, Draco, that a promise is a promise" He heard the shrill and cold voice of the hooded figure looming over him. "Running, will not save your family, and nor will it save you"
Draco woke up heaving for air, he was covered in cold sweat and his heart was racing. The dark mark on his forearm stung and glowed immensely. Draco did not know what to do, where to go, who to talk to, where to hide. There was no way he could get away with this, there was no one who could save him. He had to do it, there is no other way. Draco glanced at the watch propped on his bedside and knew it was time to get to work, running his cold hands across his sweat-soaked hair, Draco got out of his bed and reached out for his wand.
