Merman

Jungkook's POV

Father and I were patrolling the kingdom, he was teaching me stuffs as we swam around. I was gonna be a king as soon as i found my wife so i had to be ready. I am a merman, my father was the king of the sea, with my mother on his side, helping and supporting him. Merman and mermaids have longer life age than human.

Humans can only live up to 100, averagely, while merpeople can live up too 1000 years, but we age normally like humans do, until we reach the age of 20, we stopped physically aging until we're 9920 years old and we age like a human again. Anyways, we were swimming and any merpeople and sea creatures we passed by bowed to us.

I had always been interested in humans and lands but sadly, we merpeople can't ever rise up out of the water because that can lead danger to us. "Father" i called and my father, glanced at me signalling that i had got his attention "You have been up there right?" i asked and pointed to the sky.

"Of course i have, i am king" he said "There are some sea creatures that can't swim this deep, so we have to go there once in a while" he explained. "Can we go there?" i asked hopefully. "Only if you stay near me at all times. It is your birthday after all" he smiled and patted my back and laughed.

I was so excited and swam quickly to the surface "Wait wait wait" my father stopped me. "We're in the middle of the sea, we would have to swim to the nearest land" he explained and lead the way. I quickly swam and soon we arrived at a beach but it wasn't the public kind, i mean like, there was nobody there and only one house was seen.

"We're here, now hide behind that rock and test out the air outside" my father grinned and greeted some of the fishes and crabs that were there. I slowly swam up and then felt the wind hitting my face. I breathed in the air and sighed contently. It's like i have always imagined it to be.

I looked around and i couldn't believe it when i saw a human, i quickly duck down but left my eyes above sea level. It was a toddler, around 1 or 2 years old, walking with her mother as they both collected seashells. She had a bowl on her hand and once in a while squatted down to collect the shining seashells.

"Jungkook" my father called but i didn't heard him, i was too busy watching the girl who looked so lovely yet adorable. They both enjoyed their time and i did too. My father was probably looking around near here. I controlled the water and made it have a small, tiny, gentle wave near her small feet.

She looked at the wave and giggled. She slowly looked at me and that was when i knew, i had fallen in love. My heart beating so fast that my chest is about to explode. I blushed slightly when she smiled and waved at me. "What are you waving at sweetie?" her mom asked but the little girl didn't leave my gaze.

I put my index finger against my lips. "Shh" i mumbled and she looked at her mother "Rocky!" she pointed at the rock beside me and i hid behind it "Yes, that is a big rock isn't it?" her mom chuckled. "Honey! You have a phone call!" a man, who seems to be the little girl's father, called his wife from the house's porch.

"Stay here and don't walk around okay?" her mother smiled and jogged back inside the house. The little girl looked at me, making grabby hands. I saw a cave nearby and i looked at my father who seemed busy talking with the fishes. I swam to the cave and the little girl followed me.

She ran with the bowl still on her hand but some shells fell out while she ran towards me. I lifted myself off from the water to the ground deep inside the cave but still bright enough for our eyesight. The little girl looked at me with big doe eyes, i chuckled and then she looked at my tail.

I could tell she wanted to touch it. I grabbed her tiny wrist gently and then hovered it against my tail. She put down the bowl and touched the wet, slimy and scaly tail. She smiled and i moved my tail, she watched with amusement and laughed. The most beautiful sound i've ever heard in my whole life.
