Back Again

Cassie settled back into her bed, closing her eyes. She waited for her mom to exit the room. As soon as she heard the door squeak closed, Cassie let herself go, huling herself into the void. She offered herself fully to the spirits and voices.

And sat up with a gasp. She appeared in the same place as before, but it was slightly different. There was a low set brick building now. Large groups of people in thier best clothes were making their way towards it. Cassie quickly glanced down at her mud spattered converse, faded black jeans, and Green Day tee shirt that was riddled with holes. She smiled deciding that this was the perfect outfit for whatever it was that those people were going to.

As she made her way in, a buch of kids with square hats and robes stood up as older people pulled out iPhones and camcorders. A horizontally gifted (fat) man made his way to the stage. His hair was making its way from his head to his back and he had tiny Harry Potter style glasses. But not as cool. 

He cleared his throat and after a 10 minute speech about sappy stuff he announced someone. "Will Kiersten Long, our 2392 class Valedictorian please come to the stage?" he asked as parents applauded and whistled and what not.

A tall girl with blonde hair with purple streaks came up. She smiled and pulled out a sheet of paper.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2392 graduation of Iero Academy High School." So that's what this is, Cassie thought. A graduation.

The girl continued. "I would like to thank everyone for coming. I know we are all looking forward to our completion of high school and the movement into college, also, who's excited for the reception afterwards?" All the students cheered. "I'll try to ake this short so, here goes: i am proud to call many of the people graduating today friends. I will also call us a family. We are all in this together." A few groans marked the lame reference, but she continued as if she hadn't heard. "Attending this school has been the best four years of my life. And I...I'm sorry it has to end.. but all things must." Her smile wavered as she shakily reached into her robes.
