Cassie's POV:
I felt everyone's gazes turn my way. "A gift?" I took a deep breath. "Um... Yeah. It's kinda weird and I don't really understand how it works but-" I'm cut off by Eliza. "Ok 'Cassie'. What exactly is your gift?" The amounts of sarcasm that that woman was exuding were nearly painful.
"Like I said. I don't really know everything about it but I'll do my best to explain.
I first noticed this, um, gift when I was nine. I fell asleep in my room as usual. I woke up seconds later in an entirely different place." Again Eliza interjects. "Please don't try to tell me you can teleport. That would be ridiculous." I roll my eyes. "Of course not. Let me explain.
I got up and decided to explore. It was like a desert. Barren and dry. Nothing in sight. I walked for a little while and came upon a house. It was a small one story with peeling green paint. It's door wasn't painted. Just solid wood. It had huge windows with the shades all drawn. Except one. It twitched open as I approached." Eliza gasped. "T-that house you just described. It's m-m-" I shush her. My time to interject. I continue with my story. "A little boy with brown hair was watching me. When he noticed that I saw him, he closed the shades. I knocked gently on the window. His face reappeared. He pointed to his left. I walked to the door and he opened it. 'You are not from around here are you?' He asked. I remember crying. Then in there in front of that little boy. He seemed about my age. He was so awkward while I cried. He backed away at first. Then he kneeled close and gently put patted my head. I remember being startled into laughter. He jumped back and I remember saying 'no. I don't believe I am' then I left. Not on purpose. I laughed so hard I woke myself up. I was back in bed at home, thinking it was all a dream."
