The ancient dressed girl looked up at the stage. Right as she opened her mouth to speak the mousy woman pushed in front of her. "My Edward went missing a few days ago. The government is suspected and as valedictorian you will be given a job there so I didn't know if you'd heard anything." I stared at the woman and glanced at the girl. Her eyes had grown sad and she suddenly seemed very interested in her ratty shoes. The mouse turned to face her and as the mouse's mouth fell open she locked eyes with the girl. The girl looked up and her eyes seemed to say 'I'm sorry. I do know what happened to Edward'
The woman looked like she simultaneously wanted to walk away and to shake the foreigner and beg for answers.
The woman took a deep breath. "I'm Eliza Hillben." She began. Matt and I simultaneously gasped. I had forgotten about my boyfriend standing next to me. "We're n-not allowed to have l- last names though. " he stuttered. I elbowed him and nodded at the woman to continue. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she continued. "My son Edward disappeared 4 days ago. The weird girl seems to know something about what happened to him. So girly. Where is my son?" The girl glanced down at her shoes. "Well first off my names not 'girly'. second it's Cassandra Theodora Hartsfield. Call me Cassie." Matt barely contained his shock as he muttered "3 names" under his breath. Then he reached out a hand and said "nice to meet you Cassandra" she glared as I explained "we are not allowed to have multiple names or nicknames. What's it like where you're from?" she smiled "some have like 8 names. some have none." I was really confused by this. her smile faded and she said "I digress. anyways. My name is Cassie and I have a very special gift. "
