Adrien's breath hitched as he stared at the altar among the grass and trees. The air surrounding it seemed to glow, though with what he was unsure. Around him, he saw figures: faceless and generic with little regard for his presence. The figures laughed and talked, mocking his lonesome. His feet were leaden, and once he tried to move he couldn't stand straight.
"Sweetheart, you've got to be more careful," a woman said, placing her hand on his shoulder. With a start he looked up to her face, perfectly framed by ringlets of auburn hair and tanned from sun exposure. Her expression was soft and genuine, smiling down at him with grace.
His eyes landed on the studded diamond on her finger as she pulled him up to meet her eyes, bringing attention to the cream-white dress she wore and the toddler on her side.
"I hope our sweet Dolion hasn't taken to your clumsiness." Lila chuckled. Her eyes held no betrayal, intoxicating him with her beauty. "What's wrong my love?" She cupped his face with a worried lip curl.
"I-I... I had a dream, I think..." he blinked and shook his head, stumbling blindly towards a bench. The air around him rose in heat, scorching his forehead and warming his black suit.
"Whatever it was, don't let it ruin our day. You're here with me and our son, and we both love you terribly." Adrien felt her sit on his lap, bringing Dolion in closer too. The boy closely resembled his mother, though the eyes were unmistakenly his own. He tilted his head to hers, meeting Lila halfway with a kiss. "You deserve so much more than that."

The room was dark, though that was believable since the curtains were drawn and the moon was high in the sky. Adrien's stomach growled with a deep ferocity rivaled only by his pounding headache. His limbs grew sore from the lack of movement and his eyes had already adjusted to the lack of light.
It had been two days of self-isolation in his room, refusing meals and only leaving to go to the bathroom. He stayed off his phone as much as he could; he considered disabling his social media accounts.
Adrien groaned as he sat up, unable to erase the image from his head. Lila. Luka. The bedroom. The padding.
He rubbed his temples with vigor, shutting his eyes tight. Lila. Luka. The bedroom. The padding.
Plagg sat in the corner of the bed, watching Adrien wearily. His worry for his chosen had increased significantly since the reveal of Lila's betrayals. It hit even worse since he was riding on the high of his adventures as Chat and his time with Marinette. He hadn't spoken in days.
His dreams of what could have been haunted him each and every time he dozed off, which most of the time led him to stare up at the ceiling in shivered pain. It always felt so real. Whenever he would wake up in his heated sweat, it took too long to notice. Too long to remember. It was if his body was trying to protect him, but he fell beyond its protective shield.
Adrien groaned as he sat up, his vision going for a day-trip as he rubbed his eyes.
He felt disgusting, and for once he didn't feel like taking a shower. He didn't feel like doing anything.
He felt bad for leaving Marinette in the dark about the whole thing. She had tried to feed him and check up on him god knows how many times. For all she knew, he was biopolar or something.
He didn't know what he would even tell her. How do you just casually say, 'Oh, hey. I just walked in on your ex screwing my girlfriend. They were probably together since before you broke up. Also, I'm not a dad'.
It was just so unfair.
Adrien watched Plagg's form zip around the room in anxious waiting, wishing he could get the little kwami back into the field without having to move a muscule.
