Since I've been so busy with schoolwork, I figured I'd put an English project of mine up here. It's based off of a quote. Get ready for some opinions.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s quote, “Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens,” is an encouragement to all who lack the courage and determination to persevere when troubles settle in. Society encourages independence and individuality, but says nothing of trust. Trust is faith in action. It is the evidence of faith: in oneself, in others, or in God. To have faith in others is to rely on them without knowing as a fact that they will succeed. This could be as small as asking a friend to print out a project or as big as jumping out of a plane when the skydiving instructor says “go”. It takes courage to have faith, because it could mean disappointment and failure. The project could be late, or the parachute could get stuck. Faith is a risk.
Even more difficult for some than trusting others is having faith in themselves. To believe that they can do something, unaided, is insurmountable. It is too great of an idea to even pursue. The only way to learn, though, is to accomplish a task without help. To be spoon-fed everything is to be deprived of an opportunity to grow. By choosing to have faith in his or herself, a person can avoid being stagnant and develop into a dynamic character, capable of achieving more and more as they progress.
Having faith—believing in a divine entity, God, that loves and protects those devoted to Him—offers comfort when life is plagued with adversities. The troubles of the man with faith are minuscule compared to the power of his defender. A faithless man with no such security would not be willing to tread unsafe waters, but a man with faith would continue on through the night as undisturbed as if it were day. A faithless man carries worry on his back like a bag of stones; he believes that no one looks out for him but himself. He is much quicker to drop his burden where he stands and head back in the direction he came when he sees conflict between him and his destination. He avoids the problem and stops worrying. A man with faith has no burden on his back; he knows that he is taken care of, and faces the conflict between him and his destination with confidence, knowing that his almighty protector already has the battle won.
Relying on a source that cannot be proven is true faith. Without this, doubt and concern creep into the heart, which hinder the ability to continue through the struggles of life. Trust and faith do not come without courage. They lead to accomplishment: to a job well done.
