"The murder of Jason Blossom has finally been solved. Clifford Blossom, Jason's father..."

"..an owner of Blossom Maple Farms has murdered a white male student attending Riverdale High.."

"...have said that the murderer committed suicide near Thornhill..."

TVs...newspapers...anywhere you looked, you'd find someone talking about Jason's murder. The town of Riverdale was certainly far from normal. Ever since the core four solved the murder, people have had suspicions of the police, detectives and everyone else of that field. Was it traumatizing? Of course, but nonetheless they went on with their days as usual. Until, another mystery came along Riverdale.

"Mom?"

"Betty!" Alice says, quickly switching the tv channel as the ponytailed girl made her way downstairs. "You don't have to do that..." Betty tells her with an eye roll, taking a spoonful of her cereal. She'd noticed her mother would do it every time she was present in the room. "Do what?"

"Nothing...I have to go or else I'll be late!" She says, heading out the door. Once Betty arrived to school, she went straight to the Blue and Gold.

A knock was heard from across the room that she knew too well. "Toni..."

"Hey, I brought you something." She says, stepping into the room.

Betty smiles widely. "You really didn't have to d-"

"I did...I figured you'd want some company after what happened."

The room went silent before Betty looked up at Toni to say something. "I rather not talk about it."

"Betty, you've been saying that for the past few days and to be honest...I'm worried."

"Well don't be." Betty says, giving Toni one last look before leaving her alone in the room.

"What am I gonna do?"

Toni sat in a booth with Veronica, telling her what happened with Betty that day.

"Toni, it'll be okay. Just give her time, it's only been a few days. She'll open up to you soon, I promise."

"I just don't want her to feel like she's alone. I can't say I've been in her place but...I know that has to be tough to go through it by herself and-"

"Hey..." Veronica grabs her hand from across the booth, making Toni look up into her eyes. "It's gonna be okay, she's gonna be okay."

Toni gives the raven-haired girl a small nod, pulling her hand away slowly as she went over her thoughts.

"I-I'll see you tomorrow V." She says, wiping away her tears as she got up from the booth. "Thanks."

"Are you sure you'll be okay walking home alone?"

"Yes mom, I'll be fine." Betty says, earning a laugh from Jughead.

The two were packing up their bags in the Blue and Gold before going home. "Betty?" The blonde turned her head, listening to the beanie-wearing boy.

"I know everything's been weird with us since Jason's murder and-"

"Yeah, I know...I've been feeling a little lost lately with everything. I'm sorry, I just.." Her head was down, trying to hold in her tears so she wouldn't break down in front of him.

"I've gotta go, my mom's gonna be worried I-" She sniffed, grabbing her bag before her hand tugged the door knob.

"Betty wait!" Jughead ran after her until she got outside when it was pouring.

"Don't! I don't wanna talk about it. Why can't you just understand that?!" She yelled harshly, tears falling from her eyes.

It was raining so he couldn't tell, but it didn't matter since she'd already went off to her house.

A small sigh escaped from Betty's lips as she sat by her window, curled up in a ball just like the mess she was in.

Endless tears streamed down her face as she stared out of the glass, memories clouding her mind while looking back on them.

Her phone went off, snapping the blonde girl out of her many thoughts. Answering, obviously not in the mood, but wished she didn't once she heard the voice on the other end.

She hung up hurriedly, thinking it was a scam call or some annoying telemarketer.

The phone buzzed again and it was the same number. "Who the hell is this?" She answers angrily, waiting for an answer.

"Hello Elizabeth."

"Wrong number." She replies, hoping this creepy person would stop calling her. "I'm pretty sure I have the right one. Now, I have a task for you."

"Yeah me too and it's to stop calling me. Fucking weirdo." She hangs up, only to be called again by the number.

"Was the message not clear? I said-"

"It doesn't matter what you said. I have a task for you, so you do it or else your friends and family will be in danger."

Betty laughs. "The police will have fun with this one."

"They'd also have fun with your head...once it's been separated from your body." Betty's eyes widen once she heard his threats. "What do you want?"

"Veronica." The unknown voice told her through the phone. "Cut her out of your life."

"But I can't-" Betty says sadly. "But you will or else I'll do it for you."

"She's my best friend! I can't." The blonde explains over the phone, tears spilling out from her eyes.

"I'm not so sure about that." The voice argues, leaving Betty confused. "What?"

And just like that, the caller was gone.
