Question:  Who is the Raven?  Is it obvious or did it take some thinking?  I am hoping i didn't write it to obvious.

Please give me some feed back on this.  It is important to the story that it is hard to figure out.  I will need to rewrite this chapter and possibly leave the part about the raven out if it's too easy.

Haven Chapter Thirty five

Dianna left the holding rooms and the Yaguarete behind, heading back to the stairs.  She briefly wondered if she had made a mistake with Rrang, gone too far.  She had felt that it was right at the time, but only time would tell if what she did was truly God’s desire, or only her sorrow over the Yaguarete’s helplessness.

Staring up the first flight of stone stairs, she wondered why they had not come up with a better way to get from one floor to another than this.

She could have gone back to the rooms where Michael fought Dragon in much easier ways, but for now she would have to do it the normal human way.

Oh well, up we go, one at a time.  Taking a deep breath and pulling up her dress so she would not trip over it, she steeled her resolve.

At the top she smoothed her dress and caught her breath.  Dianna ran fingers thru her hair to try calm the wildness she knew was there.  A minute to make herself look presentable would make no difference to Michael’s wellbeing.

She had felt Au’Seek working her healing magic on him as she climbed the steps.  Such as it was.  She was not sure what his wounds were, but she knew they were not severe.  There was something else wrong.  Try as she might to feel through his mind, she did not recognize the symptoms.

It resembled fatigue more than anything else.  It was as if he had used himself up.  Used every bit of energy he had and there was nothing left.  His mind felt wrong, or empty.  She just couldn’t read it until she was there in person.

So, she hurried to him, worried but not overly so.  He had exposed her to his injuries so many times in the past that she had come to grips with this part of their relationship.  He would get hurt, and she would take care of him.  Bring him what he needed to heal himself.  Make him eat, make him sleep, until another important matter came to steal him away again.

Her internal ramble blew away like the wind as she entered the room.  What happened in here?  She held her calm domineer, her face a mask of control.  It was hard in the face of the devastation in the room.  The rear of the room was open to the balcony.  Window and wall were gone.  Ruble and broken furniture covered the floor.  Something to one side burned slowly.  The walls were charred black and an acrid smell burned her nose.

Michael!  Oh Michael!  His battered body lay between Azrael and Au’Seek, unmoving.  Feeling for his mind and spirit told her all she needed to know.

Dianna, in what elegance and grace she could muster under the circumstances, coughed politely for attention.

Azrael was the first to notice her.  He had a pained look, a worried look.  Au’Seek’s face tilted up from her concentrations, equally as worried and a little gaunt.  Even now Dianna could not help but notice how strikingly attractive the woman was.  Her opposite in many ways.  Au’Seek’s strong features contrasted Dianna’s softer ones.  Darker skin and hair tones to Dianna’s lighter ones.
