Gamiko was dying.

There was no way around it, no way to explain in a better way.
As soon as Tsu ran into the room and saw her crumpled form on the ground, she knew.
The one person she was doing all of this for was leaving her behind.

The sight of the smaller woman in a heap on the floor made her panic and feel sick, the feeling onto growing as she ran in and crouched down to her.

Everything in the wolf wanted wanted to scream. All her senses told her to tell, to scream and kick and cry and throw and break and beg for things to go back to normal.

Yet she did none of those things.

Instead, she gently cradled Gamiko's blood soaked head and straddled it onto her lap. Being so delicate and loving with her hand motions, brushing the hair from her lover's face.
The little moth woman's golden sparkly eyes were now dull and had taken on a milky, lazy quality. Unable to stay fully open and blink properly. They would flutter oh so slowly open and shut, as if she was trying to sleep.

Tsuki gently looked her over, feeling herself shake in anger and terror and anxiety.

Gamiko's arms were held by magic, pushed to her back and decorated with a silk bow that was no crumpled. Her dress faired no better, soaked in blood and crushed from when she was struck down.

The wound on her head caught Tsu's attention, making her swallow the screams and cries she desperately wanted to let out.

She'd been hit with something hard. It had dented her fragile skull, broken the skin in the back of her blonde, ribbon-tied doll curls. Her glasses were cracked, most likely from impact of her falling. Her nose was bruised for the same reason.

Tsuki was shaking with rage, biting her tongue as hard as she could.
She knew she couldn't panic. Panicking made Gamiko panic. She was terrified right now and she knew if she panicked, Mimi would panic and if this truly was her last moments then Tsu would NOT let them be full of fear and crying.

That's not what she would have wanted.

"T...th....ths..."
Gamiko rolled her milky gold eyes towards Tsu, her expression tired and in so much pain.
The smaller woman desperately tried to pull her hands away from her back, shifting with all the strength she had. She got easily frustrated when she couldn't fight the magic, trying to hold back the embarrassed and scared tears.

Tsu was quick to action. With so much carefulness, she lifted up the moth girl and touched the bow sealing her arms behind her.
Quietly and as steadily as she could, she clicked her tongue in a certain pattern.
And within seconds Gamiko's arms fell stiffly to her side, making her breath slow and calm.

Immediately Tsu brought Gamiko close again, bringing her wounded lover's hands into hers. Tsuki quickly rubbing her fingers agaisnt Gamiko's wrists, trying to lovingly get the blood flowing into her hands again.

Gamiko only cried silently, keeping her head as still as she could while Tsu kept it pressed to her chest. Not wanting to let the smaller woman go.
Normally it was the other way around.
Gamiko was the one to always come out and save Tsu from whatever trouble she had gotten herself into.
Gamiko was the one to heal Tsu.
Gamiko was the strong and unbreakable one.

Yet she was the one dying.

Tsuki brought Gamiko's wrists to her lips and kissed them shakily, unable to hide her anxiety. Even with a false soft smile.

Gamiko watched, the bloody tears rolling down her baby faced cheeks and into her fluff.

"I...mmm..dying...." she managed to whisper out, the terror in her voice clear.

Immediately, her lover responded.

"Is it blissful?"
Tsu asked, before biting her tongue.
Unsure of why she asked. Maybe she knew... this is what Gamiko wanted to hear.
She knew Gamiko needed comfort.

Gamiko looked up at her the best she could, before giving in and closing her eyes.  Preparing herself to respond.

"Itch...itcs...." She stutters. "It...zuh....like.... ah.... dream."
The moth woman managed to get the words out, her labored breathing getting thicker and less consistent.

"......."

Tsuki stayed quiet a long time, carefully brushing her ungloved fingers through Gamiko's hair.

Finally, she spoke. Right into her lover's ear, careful to hold her still.

"I want to dream."
She said blankly, sure to hide the tears. She couldn't let Gamiko see her cry. Not now.

Not anymore.

Gamiko let out a soft, labored breathless squeak. Before resting into Tsuki's arms, her small form comforting.

Tsuki finally allowed herself to cry as the tears flowed graciously, thankful Gamiko closed her eyes.
With each breath the moth letoyr, Tsu took in a breath.

One.

Tsuki cradled her softly, kissing the non bloody parts of her lover's head.
Then took a deep breath in, and out.

Two.

Tsuki laid back on the bed frame, humming as she shut her eyes. She was going to comfort Gamiko to the grave and she wasn't going to cry until she was sure the moth woman couldn't hear her.
Deep breath in, and out.

Three.

Tsuki whispered ever so softly "I love you" into Gamiko's ear, rocking her lover back and forth with big tears eyes.
Deep breath in, and-

And then she choked, realizing Gamiko didn't take in that fourth breath.

She was gone.
