There are a lot of things I wish I could be.
American
I think all English teens have once wished they were American. They seem to have it all. I'd love to be labelled by what state I'm from and stand covering my heart when the national anthem plays.
Male
I think all female teens have once wished they were male. No periods or having to suffer through a pregnancy. Being kicked in the balls is not equal to the ongoing pain of pushing a living being out of your vagina.
Black
I think all white teens have once wished they were black. It's hard to actively spread support and feel apart of all the protests when everyone questions you because 'you're not black'. Just because I am white, doesn't mean I can't stand up for equal rights.
However, I don't think I would want to be a black man living in America. I wouldn't be able to walk down the street without the threat of being wrongly attacked by police because I'm wearing a dark hoodie and my hand in my pockets which 'looked like he was concealing a weapon'.
I think I'll stick to being a white English girl walking the streets of Paris instead.
