Chapter 13

Max's P.O.V

"Max..." I heard Luke say in a hushed tone.

"Yeah?" I asked, still on the look out for other players.

"Uh, I uh..." He stammered and I looked at him, my eyebrows raised waiting for his response.

"Yes Luke?" I ask again, trying to get him to spit out what he was going to say.

"Will you go on a date with me?" he blurts out so fast that I almost didn't catch it. But I did.

I'm surprised by what he said and thought for a few seconds.

Luke's P.O.V

The words just busted through my lips before I could even process what I was going to say. The longer she stalled, the more anxious I got. She had a shocked look on her face and was staring off. I just wish I knew what she was thinking.

I turned away, blushing madly. "You don't have to answer right away if you don't want to."

She nodded still not completely focused and turned back to look for the other team.

Calum's P.O.V

We knew that the others would not come out of their hiding spots, so now we were walking around very careful of our movements and focused on our surroundings.

We were over by a pile of bricks when I saw a figure move in the medium sized space between the bricks. I aim over there and shoot the person. I hear a little buzz and an 'Aw man!' come from Luke. I chuckled and saw another figure.

I aimed for it and shot and heard Max groan. I laughed as the buzzer went off, detecting that we won.

Cece jumped up and down and jumped up into my arms, swinging her legs around my torso. I caught her and chuckled into her hair. I guess she's really competitive.

She got down and blushed, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. Before thinking I cupped my right hand around her face and moved closer. My eyes flickered between her eyes, down to her lips and to her eyes again.

She nodded and I leaned down and gently placed my lips to hers. She kissed back and then we pulled back. It was short, but sweet and gentle. Just like her.

No one was around so I took this opportunity to ask her something I wanted to for a while.

"Cece, would you like to go on a date with me on Friday?" I asked quietly. Not because I didn't want anyone to hear. But because it just fit in with the atmosphere.

She smiled looking down to the cement. She looked up a second later and was blushing. She flashed me that amazing smile of hers.

"Yes, Calum. I'd love to." She said in a whisper like tone. I smiled and we walked out of the arena together.

Luke's P.O.V

We were in the van waiting for Calum and Cece. We were in the same seating order as the ride here.

I was staring off when I felt someone nudge me. I look over to see Max smiling.

"About that offer back there..." she trailed.

"Yeah?" I asked a little too quickly.

Then she said the three letters I was waiting for. I was hoping for.

"Yes."
