It was the perfect day to have a beach party. The sun was high in the clear blue sky, radiating warmth and bright rays of light that demanded you show-off your cute new swimsuit and slip on your sunglasses.

Music was blaring all the summer's latest hits. People were dancing, playing volleyball, swimming in the ocean, and simply hanging out with their friends.

"Y/N! Meet my cousin!" Your friend, Eunbin called out. She was standing next to a group of boys, who were about the same age as you. "This is my cousin Jeno and his friends. Guys, this is my friend Y/N."

A boy with high cheekbones and an adorable eye-smile greeted you and introduced each of his friends. They all seemed pretty friendly.

"The one at the end is Jisung." Jeno told you. "He's our shy little maknae."

Jisung laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm not as shy as I used to be."

"Oh yeah?" Haechan challenged him with a smirk. "Then tell Y/N what you told us a few seconds ago when you saw her walking over here."

Jisung's eyes widened as he looked to his friends for help. "Umm . . I - uhh . ."

Mark smacked Haechan on the back of the head. You and Eunbin gave each other confused looks.

"Ow! What?!?" Haechan protested.

"Stop trying to embarrass Jisung." Renjun told him. Jisung continued to fidget beside him.

"I don't think it's embarrassing." Chenle shrugged. "All Jisung said was that he thought you look REALLY GOOD in your swimsuit." Jisung groaned, covering his face with his hands. "He said you were the prettiest person at this party and that he wants to - "

Jaemin cut him off, covering Chenle's mouth with his hand as he restrained him from giving anymore information. "Alright, dolphin. It's time to shut your mouth for once." Chenle continued to mumble, trying to escape from Jaemin's grasp to no avail.

You smiled, both flattered and embarrassed yourself. Before you could reassure Jisung not to feel bad about it, in an attempt to change the subject, Mark announced, "Who wants to go for a swim? Everyone? Perfect! To the water!"

"Oh, thank God." Jisung muttered. He sprinted towards the ocean and away from this awkward conversation as if his life depended on it.

The rest of the boys followed him, laughing. Mark, giving Haechan a piggy-back ride on the way there.

"Are they always like this?" You asked her.

You heard a high-pitched scream and looked over to see Jaemin and Jeno throw Chenle into the water, continuously dunking him underneath. Chenle would come up with flailing arms and gasping protests.

"I hope not." Eunbin told you. She nudged you knowingly "But Jisung, huh? Jeno said he's a really good dancer"

"He's painfully shy." You glanced over at him in the water, grinning as he playfully shoved his hyungs. You smiled, "But super cute."

You both jogged towards the water, in order to join them. It was fun.You split up into teams and a few games were played, allowing you to bond with the boys, but Jisung continued to stay on the quiet side.

"Okay. Our best swimmer against your best swimmer." Renjun announced. "Whoever reaches the buoy over there first wins."

"Y/N you have to do it!" Eunbin exclaimed. "She's a really good swimmer you guys."

"Not as good as Jisung I bet." Jeno challenged her. He patted Jisung on the back encouragingly.

You both lined up behind the starting point. You smiled, "Good luck, Jisung."

Sheepishly, he replied, "Yo-you too, Y/N."

"Ready?? Go!" Haechan yelled.

You pushed off the ground, swimming freestyle as fast as you could towards the far buoy. When you finally came up, gasping for air, you grabbed on to it, chest heaving. The waves caused you to bob up and down, surprisingly being more rough than you had expected. Your feet could no longer touch the bottom, each wave crashing into you stronger than the last.

Suddenly, you couldn't see Eunbin or any of the other boys. "Jisung?" You called out, looking around frantically. Fear began to grow in you as you realized how far from land you were, not another person in sight.

Your heart raced with terror at the idea of being lost at sea. There's no way I swam this far out. The waves must have carried me away.

You began to hyperventilate, throat aching with the sobs that were dying to escape.

"Hey, Y/N! Don't cry. Please don't cry. It's going to be okay." A suddenly present Jisung told you as he grabbed on to the buoy next to you. "You swam to the wrong buoy. This was way farther than the other one. You couldn't hear us calling after you. When the waves started pulling you away, I had to come after you. Come on, let's -"

Jisung was cut off by the crash of a huge wave that pushed you both beneath the surface, your hand slipping off the buoy. You tumbled roughly underwater, hitting the floor at one point. When you came up for air, you saw Jisung a few feet away from you, calling and motioning for you to follow him to the now near body of land.

Tired, you both dragged yourselves onto shore, drenched. You took in your surroundings. All you saw was sand, rocks, and loads of trees. No signs of your friends or the party anywhere.

Oh no.

"Jisung, I think we landed on a stranded island." You heaved out to speak.

Jisung brushed the hair from his face, looking around. "Oh my God. I think you're right. Shoot, what would Taeyong do in this situation?"

"We have to swim back!" You told him.

"There's no way we can do that. Look." He pointed down at your leg. A large cut covered it, a deep wound that left your leg covered in blood. "If we go back into the water, sharks will eat us alive."

You whimpered at the thought. Jisung hesitated, realizing that he scared you. "I mean . . the waves are really rough right now, so it might be hard to swim. Let's wait until it dies down a little."

Even though he was trying to make his last remark seem less frightening, the terror within you didn't lessen in the slightest. The sun was beginning to set. Soon darkness would come, leaving you stranded on an island with no food, no water, a serious injury, and a boy you barely knew.

Two hours later

You and Jisung had managed to make a fire. Eventually, your cut stopped bleeding. But it still bothered you considering you had no way of cleaning the wound or bandaging it.

The bright orange flame warmed you both as you sat by the fire. The crashing of the waves against the shore the only thing you could here. The sound annoyed you. You were both waiting for the waves to calm down so you could possibly swim back , but here they were, as strong as ever.

"I'm really sorry." You told him. "If it weren't for me, we wouldn't be stuck here. It's all my fault."

"You've said that every five minutes for the last two hours." He replied.

"Well, it's true."

"Who cares whose fault it is. We're here. No use in apologizing about it or dwelling on how we got here. We just have to figure out a way to get back. They're all probably really worried about us." Jisung told you.

You looked over at Jisung, who was staring into the fire, the light illuminating every feature on his face. "Look at you. Saying so many words. Where'd that adorably shy guy go?"

He laughed. "When you suddenly think you're going to die, being shy seems kind of useless."

You felt sorry, wanting to apologize all over again. You hated that he was stuck in this with you, in an actual life-threatening situation. You scooted closer to him, taking his arm and wrapping it around you. If he asked, you'd claim that it was for warmth. But he didn't, instead saying, "Three hours ago I would've had a heart attack if this happened."

"What? The whole 'we might die' situation?" You asked him.

"No. The whole 'my arm is around Y/N that really cute girl I just met' situation. But yeah, that one is equally terrifying as this."

You laughed, warmth rushing up to your cheeks. Jisung looked at you, smiling, the ends of his hair still wet with salt water.

The stars shown bright overhead, the moon a full glowing beam of light. Maybe it was the fact that you were both alone, lost on a stranded island, and in desperate need of supplies that suddenly made you both bold, realizing that you still had each other as comfort in this terrifying situation.

Your heart leaped when Jisung began leaning his face towards yours. You began to meet him half-way. The cool-breeze of the wind and the spray of salt water no longer a concern.

You felt the light graze of his lips, but before you could experience them any further, a voice shouted, making both your heads snap towards the sudden noise.

"Jisung! Y/N! There you are!" Mark exclaimed, a huge smile on his face. Eunbin and the other boys were behind him as they rounded the corner. "We've been looking for you for hours!"

"We wouldn't have if we knew you just went off to go on a date." Haechan said jokingly bitter.

You realized Jisung's arm was still wrapped around you. You both pulled away, leaping apart, attempting to give an explanation.

"We're on a stranded island. The waves are merciless and I cut my leg - " I began.

"We thought we were going to die! And we couldn't come back because you know sharks-" Jisung explained.

"Sharks!?!?!" Chenle screamed grabbing onto to Renjun for protection.

"Stranded island?" Eunbin questioned. "We're still on the beach. This is just the other side of the shore. The party is like two miles down."

"So we aren't going to die?" Jisung said with glee.

"All we had to do was walk?" You proclaimed unbelieving as Eunbin pulled you into a hug.

"Uh, yeah!" Jeno said. "Jeez! You guys worried us so much."

"So we waited around for nothing?" Jisung asked stupefied.

"Not nothing." Jaemin said, wrapping his arm around Jisung. "You practically cuddled with Y/N, and almost kissed her too. Looks like we got here just in time to ruin our maknae's romantic moment." Jisung pushed him off, turning bright red much to Jaemin's amusement.

"It's okay, Jisung! We'll give you a kiss!" Chenle screamed, embracing Jisung. Jisung protested, running off, only to have all the boys chase after him making kissey-noises.

You and Eunbin watched them running down the beach, amused. "I think I like them." You told Eunbin. "We should hang out again. Maybe without the danger of death next time though."

"True. But where would the fun in that be?" Eunbin told you. "You better go. It looks like Haechan's going kiss your boy before you do."

You both laughed as you ran after them, joining in on the fun that this beach party continued to surprise you with.
