❝And I just want you to feel love

Before it disappears❞

K⌋ieran wasn't the conventional type of beautiful. Kol noticed this. Every guy and girl noticed this. Her hair didn't bounce in golden curls over the shoulders of porcelain skin. Her eyes weren't the color of deep ocean blues. At only 5'2", she wouldn't be seen on a runway despite her shapely figure. Her wavy hair was the color of burnt umber that flowed effortlessly with a breeze on her honey skin. Her eyes resembling two cups of dark coffee. She was faintly ordinary. That is, until the sunlight hit her. The sun rays reflected off her making her hair a simmering caramel, her honey skin revealing freckles that danced across her face and body, and her eyes became an eclipse that consumed all light with flecks of autumn leaves. No, she wasn't beautiful. Her raw beauty was breathtaking.

"Why do you keep staring at me?" A puzzled Kieran looked over to Kol as he was also reading but caught him gazing at her.

"I'm noticing the little things you do when you're immersed in a book that you probably don't realize you do. When you're confused, your eyebrows slightly twitch. When something amuses you, you let out a small chuckle. And when you like something, you subtlety smile. I just find it intriguing  how a simple thing could entrance you so much." Kol addressed some of her quirks.

"It's a classic. I love my classic literature. Would you stop it, though? It's kind of creepy."

"Why are you giving me such a hard time, Kieran Stewarts?" Kol leaned forward.

"I'm giving you a hard time?" She stifled a laugh.

"Yes! And quite frankly, I think I'm growing on you." He added.

"You're not entirely bad." Kieran rolled her eyes.

"Not entirely bad? That's the most you can say? I happen to think I'm quite a charming lad, love." declared Kol.

"I may not be like most girls you've met," she air quoted, "But you're like all of the guys I've met."

"And how so?" He rested his hand in his palm.

"You have such a high look on yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal and when a girl rejects you, it bruises your confidence so you chase after her because girls usually chase after you. You're not used to it. So, you try to win her over until you get bored." retorted Kieran. Kol stayed silent. He didn't want to try defend himself because he knew on some level, it was true. He was used to girls swooning after him and it was unexpected for Kieran not to. However, something in his head convinced him that Kieran wasn't someone he'd get bored over. He wants to prove to her that he is different from them.

With a stake in his hand, a determined Avery marched across the driveway of the Salvatore Boarding House. His fist pounded against the solid oak door and waiting for the opening.

"Can I help you?" quizzed the younger Salvatore brother when he opened the door. Avery stomped over and pushed Stefan with his arm against his chest to the wall, raising his arm holding the stake.

"I know what you are! For generations my family has been hunting things like you. You stay away from my sister, you hear me? If you ever touch her, she'll be the last thing you touch." Avery threatened.
