Castiel

The way Dean had looked during the class. I had decided not to ask what he meant when he said not to believe rumours. We'd moved on from Gordon Walker and written about anything and everything else, I watched as he loosened up and eventually forgot about the wave of darkness that had passed when discussing Gordon.

The final period I didn't have with Dean again but I felt my heart leap when my phone buzzed in Art and I saw I had a text from an unknown number which was undoubtedly Dean Winchester. I felt my chest buzz, for some reason a text felt closer to talking than writing notes to each other. I felt like we were finally talking, but we weren't. I wondered throughout the class when we'd talk, if it would be a conscious decision or if one of us would forget one day and slip up or if one of us would over hear the other.

I felt much lighter than I had at lunch or this time the day before as I headed for the gates though the feeling didn't stay for long as I turned to the sound of two cheerleaders talking too loud for something that sounded like gossip.

"He's talking to Anna" one of the girls informed the other.

"Don't go over there until he's gone" the other replied after reaching forward to hold the other girl still by the elbow.

"Unfair, he was busy with Benny then that other guy all day. This is the first time he's talked to any of us an- oh my GOD I think he's asking her out!" I gulped, pushing the lump in my throat down as I turned to look at them then followed their eyes to the my sister and none other than Dean Winchester who was currently waiting for Anna to write her number into his phone while sporting a flirtatious smirk. He looked towards the girls watching and they quickly turned round giggling with red dusting their cheeks and necks. I turned to face the pavement as I walked to the gate and waited for Alfie who was by my side after around two minutes and began rambling on about his day, I was thankful he was still so young he didn't notice things like his big brother pouting at the floor like it had personally confiscated his lolly pop as we walked.

I checked my phone once we were home, seeing a text from Dean as if he hadn't just picked up my sister.

"Speak of the Devil" I muttered as Anna walked through the entryway on the phone no doubt discussing her upcoming date with the new extremely sexy guy in the year.

I huffed and put my phone away as she came back in the room moments later giggling and typing heading up to her room. I didn't want to be talking Star Wars when he was flirting with my sister simultaneously.

I looked through my notes and was pleasantly surprised that I had actually done my work somehow while giving Dean all of my attention, the pleasant feeling soured as Dean again came to mind. Stupid new friend flirting with my sister, I dreaded the idea of seeing them around. Dean not seeing it as a problem as he gives me notes then runs off to kiss my si-

I gagged as the image with a wave of jealousy and possessiveness. That was new but somehow I wasn't at all surprised. I put my work away and headed to my own room, pulling out the book I was reading and opening it where the pages were falling open naturally. I was called down for dinner by our Aunt Naomi who shooed us away with our mouths still full, she very much hated children or anyone under the age of thirty. I got ready for bed after that, reading for another few hours before getting under the covers. I lay there for a moment before remembering to put my phone on charge. A pang of guilt stung my chest as I saw I had several texts ranging from the moment I put my phone away to around twenty minutes ago. All from Dean. I went to reply but read the last message, it was saying goodnight so I decided to leave it until I saw him in the morning.

Dean

I had music last, Anna spoke to me throughout the lesson. She was flirtatious and stunning and really hot with her vibrant red hair. I mentioned struggling with my guitar since I'd never had a steady teacher and had to teach myself so I wasn't as clean sounding as the other guitarist in the room and she offered to practice with me. We walked out of School together before we stopped by the cars before she turned around.

"Oh if you did really want help with that I can give you my number" she held her hand out for my phone, I opened contacts and wrote in her name before grinning and passing it over.

"So I'm 'teach' with a winky face, not even 'Anna'" she chuckled and typed in her number. I found my eyes looking over the car park as I waited and seeing two girls quickly turn away from me as I looked in their direction, just behind them Cass was walking away slowly with shoulders slumped and head down, I made a mental note to text him when I got home. She passed the phone back and we discussed what times we might both be free before I headed to my car to sit inside and wait for Sammy who was surprisingly later than me for once.

When we finally got home we followed our normal routine but I skipped the shower for now and headed to my room to work out how to smoothly ask Cass if he was alright without making it look like I stalked him or that I was watching him or basically any negative connotations.

'Hey, you alright?' I pressed send and stared at my phone scowling slightly for a few minutes. That was the best I could do, seriously? After ten minutes I sighed and decided we were having an early dinner today and headed out to the kitchen to make cheesy pasta, using my own cheese sauce recipe of course.

I begrudgenly did some homework along side Sammy before texting Cass again.

'We should do a Star Wars marathon' I thought maybe he didn't reply because he didn't want to open up so went with more of a casual way out of the feelings talk for now.

I cleaned the kitchen and neatened the living area before checking my phone, no reply, then jumping into the shower. When I stepped back out I half hoped to find another piece of paper somewhere on thefloor and even found myself digging through my pockets, maybe I'd missed something again. But I left the bathroom empty handed. I picked up my phone again and felt myself sending a text before I'd even meant to.

'Oh and Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit' I went to my room and put pyjama bottoms on before checking on Sammy who was now lying on his bed reading.

"Bed soon Sammy, go brush your teeth now so you don't fall asleep before you get a chance" he didn't argue as he stood up and headed to the bathroom book still in hand. I chuckled and waited for him to finish as I followed suit before turning all the lights off and locking the front door.

I checked my phone one last time not feeling too hopeful as I shot a goodnight text and put it on charge about ready to pass out. Or stare at the ceiling thinking for several long hours.

Both boys spent the night turning from their front to their back and left shoulder to right, both suffering from aches all over.

They slumped in their seats beside each other. One feeling achey and ignored and one feeling achy and jealous. Dean couldn't help the grumble that escaped his lips and Castiel couldn't hold his back as he replied in a similar fashion. Both also noticedat the same time that that was the closest to talking they'd come so far. Castiel went to pull out some paper as he stared wide eyed at the very much also wide green eyes staring back at him but was stopped in his tracks when another sound came from the boy next to him.

"Wow" Castiels hand shot to the inside of his elbow and his lips quivered. He knew he had to say something, this was possibly on Deans skin. He cleared his throat and decided to go with what came naturally, regretting that decision as soon as he opened his mouth.

"I-I- you're wow" Dean snorted loudly and they both broke into hysterics.

The surrounding students jumped from their seats, the boys had been completely silent, the only sound being from pen on paper.

"Do you, are those..." Dean held the hand Castiel had laying on the table.

"Yes, I have had your nervous mumble on my hip since I was ten" Dean squeezed his hand.

"And Christ Cass, your voice" at that Castiel found himself blushing and once again becoming silent.

"Well, I guess all that time running up to this really didn't work huh?" Dean began rubbing the back of his neck bashfully. Castiel found himself smiling at this and and squeazing Dean's hand.

"Hey, now I've heard it I'd like to hear more of your voice thanks" Dean teased his new soulmate.

They both felt as light as a feather.

"So, you wanna go on a date?"
