Kim Taehyung didn't know what to do.

He kept wandering endlessly around the hospital corridors, mindless of other nurses asking if he was alright. He couldn't keep his hands from shaking and his mind kept repeating events of what had just happened.

Jiyong had been shot.

He still couldn't get over that his own friend, one of his most trusted ones as well, was in a position where he may not make it out alive. His other friends had left after Taehyung repeatedly assured that he "would take care of anything and he'll call if anything occurred". Now that Jiyong was in surgery, he prayed God and his whole life that he would be alright.

"Yah, Kim Taehyung." A weak voice called out from behind him. He turned to find the brunette girl, not with her usual confident smirk and fieriness that had caught his attention in the first place. Instead, a girl who's face was flushed with broken emotions and tears came running towards him. She was on the verge of breaking down and she quickly caught onto Taehyung, clinging onto him as if her whole life depended on him. Taehyung, without thinking much, tightened his arms around her and smoothly caressed her back. He knew the feeling very well, a feeling of pain and conflict as to whether everything would be alright or whether things would be taken for the worst.

Her sister, Yoona and Jihoon, weren't too far behind and looked just as bad as Jennie did. Yoona was desperately trying to stay calm as the big sister she was and comfort Jihoon who had broken into tears at the sight of Jennie breaking down. She slowly sat Jihoon down as she mumbled comforting and reassuring words to him, although she herself didn't know whether it was true.

The doctor, who ran his hands down his face in a stressed motion, came out of the surgery room waiting to tell the news.

"The surgery is finished but Mr Jiyong is still unconscious."

Yoona quickly stood up, her hands fumbling with the car keys in her hands. "Is he going to be alright."

"We still don't know the answer to the question, Miss." The doctor apologised.

Jennie pulled out of her hug from Taehyung and turned to face the doctor. "Where did he get shot?"

"Just above the heart." The doctor replied.

"Thank you doctor." Yoona interrupted, letting the man get back to his work. "Please keep us informed if there is any more news."

"Will do, but please can you come with me to sign a few forms." The doctor kindly asked. Yoona faintly nodded before following behind him, Jihoon closely behind. "Jennie, do you want to stay here or..."

"I'll stay." Jennie said, settling herself down on one of the seats.

"Alright, we'll be back soon." Yoona waved, rubbing Jihoon's back in a comforting way and leading him forward.

Taehyung took a seat next to Jennie, tears about to come out of his eyes at the sight of the poor girl beside him.

"What happened?" Jennie whispered, sniffling.

Taehyung, who knew exactly what happened, knew it wasn't in his place to reveal Jiyong's secrets. If he told her, he would have broke the trust between Jiyong and him. It would also impact negatively on Jennie as he knew she wouldn't take well to the news.

"I.." He started, his hands on his face. "I can't tell you."

"Is this about his secret job?" Jennie asked. She knew Jiyong was the main bread winner of the family but how he got that much money, she didn't know the answer to. It seemed only Yoona and Taehyung knew the answer to that question. She wouldn't be surprised if Jihoon knew about it, they always loved keeping her in the dark.
