"Woahhh, that was so cool!" Milagros yelled after getting off the bike. The wind ruffled her hair lightly as she shook her head. Everything rushed by in a blur because of Aden's maniac driving "skills".
Milagros turned around to observe her surroundings to find the sun rising, filling the sky with a deep red flame, setting the clouds ablaze.
Aden simply shrugged, not saying a word as he walked towards a bridge. Turning back to Milagros and motioned her to follow.
She slowly trailed behind Aden as they reached the edge of the bridge.
Milagros's knees start to go weak and her vision turned that horrible shade of sickly green. The type of green that means she is going to throw up in about three seconds. Maybe two. The sounds of the water crashing onto the rocks did nothing to soothe her nerves. She backed away and looked around, letting her eyes take in the lush leaves and the blue blue sky and trying to calm her racing heart. Milagros let her eyes wander and it lands on Aden, she lets out a shriek that sounds like a constipated dokey.
Aden lifted his shirt over his head, exposing his brawnilicious 6 pack littered with scars almost invisible to anyone who doesn't know where to look for them.
Milagros shook her head in attempt to clear her fuzzy thoughts. Praying silently that Aden didn't catch her staring. "What are you doing?" Milagros asked, scrunching up her nose.
"What does it look like?" Aden answered curtly, rolling his eyes in the process. "We're going to have some fun."
"Oh no no. I'm not going to have some fun with you." Milagros shook her head, terrified of his response once he sees the scars on her body, "Don't we have school later, or did that thought completely skip your mind?" Milagros avoided swimming her whole life, she could do it some more.
"Stop being so uptight and just have some fun," Aden nudges Milagros with his very naked elbow, meeting her eyes.
Milagros felt herself blush, despite being sick with fear and his teasing. "Oh no no, I'm not having some fun with you. Let's just go back and serve detention yeah?", she said, "I think we should take a rain check on this whole 'fun' thing. We've got plenty of time right? Why rush a good ol' thing?"
Slowly, carefully, Milagros starts to make her way back to his bike, while trying to relax and think of good, happy things like matcha lattes and Saturday mornings.
"Breath, Milagros, just breathe-" she said quietly, trying to reassure herself.
Before Milagros could utter another word, Aden walked towards her and threw her across his shoulders, walking towards the bridge she desperately was trying to escape from. Milagros screamed bloody murder beside his ears but he didn't even flinch. Aden put Milagros down once he reached the bridge and snapped Milagros into his arms, locking her from behind.
"NO! Stop it! I don't want to go!"
"Open your eyes, you're safe," Aden whispered from behind her.
Milagros shook her head wildly and tried to wiggle out of his steel arms.
"Come on, you really shouldn't miss this."
"Your mom really shouldn't miss this." Milagros was running out of witty comebacks, not that she had any to begin with.
"Toes to the edge."
"I'll kill you and bury your body into a ditch and spit on your grave, then I'll piss on --"
Luckily her rant was cut short by his phone ringing. Aden stepped back, pulling Milagros with him as she let out a sigh of relief, happy that he didn't push her down. Milagros stole a peek at Aden, thinking there's something wrong with his face. He was staring at his phone, letting it ring.
"Hey, is there something sticking up your butthole? Why do you look like constipated pig mixed with a donkey smashed over and over again with a broomstick." Milagros questioned, making Aden glare at her with annoyance, "Answer your stupid phone, it's getting annoying."
Aden shot her another glare and decided to answer his phone call.
"Hello---yeah---i know-----I'm watching----" Aden whispered into the phone, walking away from her and towards his motorbike. When he got out of her sight, Aden sighed and raked a hand through his hair. "I shouldn't have taken on this project," he mutters to himself, "but I had to." Gritting his teeth, Aden walks back to find Milagros sitting at the edge of the bridge and staring into the water.
Milagros looks up when she hears the sound of footsteps approaching. She looks at Aden in confusion when she finds out that his mood has shifted completely, the playful yet threatening Aden is gone, replaced with the cold and serious one.
"Come on. Let's go back to school." Aden said, picking up his shirt and putting it on while turning away from her.
Milagros frowned, noticing the sudden change in his mood as she follows him back to where his motorcycle was parked.
