Outside, the bank was alreading swimming with cops by this time. There was an announcement over a megaphone "We know you are four in there. You are hereby adviced to let those civilians free and come out with your hands above your heads."

Brax, Tom and the manager entered the banking hall with the three heavy bags of money and joined the rest.
Brax picked up a microphone and spoke into it, "the civilians in here are my hostages and so I'm calling the shots. You will supply us a helicopter to get out of here, or else i put a bullet into every bloody soul in this bank."

His voice rang outside over the mic. He waited for response but got none. He dropped the mic and spoke into his own earplug. "Sky, come in. What's the situation outside?"

"Dense," came the voice. I don't see any way out. Are you sure they'll corporate?"

"I hope so." Brax said.

30mins went by and there was no helicopter in sight. Then another hour.

"What's the situation outside, Sky?" Brax asked.

"All entrance have been secured by armed men." Sky was still at the uncompleted building watching through his lens. "The cops are closing in on us and the SWAT are here now. I don't think they are ready to negotiate, Boss."

"Damn it!" Brax muttered.

Stub was busy flirting with the ladies and teasing them with the barrel of the gun.

"I have a plan," said Tom.

He got to work, broke open a computer system and took out a component. He fixed wires together and produced a little device like a box. There was a little red light and a beeping sound coming from it like the sound of a bomb on countdown, ready to go off.

Everybody watched him in silence as he finished and picked the microphone.

"I can see y'all cops are not ready to come to terms with us but obviously you do not understand what is at stake. The four of us are coming out and you will do nothing to stop us. You can hear the beeping sound. It's a ticking time bomb. If we come out of this building and there is any shot fired at us, i will detonate that bomb with a single click and the blood of these civilians will hang on your conscience. Am i understood?"

Brax, Stub, and Bubble rushed towards him in shock. "What in the name of the devil do you think you're doing? Playing smart and trying to get us all killed? We both know this is no real bomb."

"But they don't know that," Tom calmly replied. "Trust me, I'm getting us out of here."

The voice of the officer on the megaphone came on: "fine. You will be allowed to come out without the money. Let the civilians go and you can all come out."

"They're tryna fool us," Stub said.

"Of course we're taking hostages," said Brax. "That way they won't dare fire at us. Tom and Bubble, take a bag each and you'll follow behind myself and Tom. And you Stub, grab a hostage. Let's go."

Brax asked the manager to pick the third bag and walk in front of him(Brax) who was pointing a barrel at the manager. Stub looked around to grab a hostage. He caught sight of the frightened secretary crouching at a corner. She looked very beautiful and innocent with her peering brown eyes and seductive cleavages. He grabbed hold of her and ordered her to move.

Brax spoke into his earplug and asked Sky to come down and find a way to escape. If everything goes well, they'll converge at their hideout the next day at a specified time.

The four bandits moved slowly out of the building with the two hostages in front. More than a hundred guns were pointed at them ready to shoot, but surprisingly they didn't. They couldn't. Too many lives were at stake.
As the bandits entered their car, they hurriedly pulled out and picked up speed.

The sheriff started barking orders, "unit two, three and five, follow them."

Three cars pulled out and followed after the bandits.

Stub was the best driver amongst them therefore he took the wheel. Brax was on his right, while Tom, Bubble, the manager and his secretary were sitting behind. The bags had been thrown into the back of the car.

"Faster," cried Brax. "They're right behind us."

They sped through the city towards the outskirts of the town. None of them knew where Sky was at this time but each was struggling for his own survival. The cops and siren were still on their tail. There was a military check point 5 kilometres away. Stub swerved to the right, driving into the woods. They had to get away no matter what. The lady with them was already crying by this time and pleading to let her go.

They drove on into the woods. The cops were no longer in sight. They made out a narrow sandy turn ahead and followed it, not caring where it led. Just then, a large deer ran out of the woods from the right. Stub swerved to the left. A thick fallen tree trunk was lying ahead. The car was on high speed.

"Shii....iit!" Stub screamed as he stepped on the brakes but it was too late. The SUV ran headlong into the tree trunk and summersaulted, then lay still.
