Tom's mum got better and she was discharged from the hospital, but the police had their eyes on her all the time. Through her, they got to Tom and he was arrested one afternoon while he was having lunch with Karen in a remote part of the city.
Karen was devastated as he had grown to love Tom so much. She got a well renowned criminal defence attorney who handled the case and Tom's sentence was reduced to 6 months imprisonment for manslaughter in self defence and armed robbery.
He was released to meet Karen heavily pregnant with his child. He finally got a job in a power company and got married to Karen who stood by him when all odds were against him.
On the wedding day while the priest was asking for whoever had any reason for the couple not to be joined, Tom looked towards the crowd and he saw a man in a dark leather jacket and black hat stand up. Sky! Tom's heart skipped a beat. He wiped his eyes with the hand and looked again. The man's back was towards them as we walked out of the church.
Tom never ever heard of Sky after that but he was always looking over his shoulders.
Karen gave birth to a baby girl named McKenzie and together they lived happily ever after.
