Next morning, Tom and Karen deviced a plan to enter the hospital without Tom being seen.
Tom's identity had been obtained by the police and as such the police may have stationed themselves at the hospital where his mother was in case he tried to make contact. This was where the presence of Karen came in handy.
The plan was to use Karen as a point of contact between Tom and his sister.
Karen will make a phone call to Grace, Tom's younger sister, introducing herself as their uncle's secretary. Since Tom was nowhere to be found, an uncle has at last decided to help out with the hospital bills, by sending his secretary. In case there were law enforcement around, they would have very little reason to suspect foul play.
Tom couldn't get himself to fully trust this lady. For all he knew, she could be playing with his feelings and when the right opportunity presents itself, she would run away with the money or sell him out to the police. For all he knew, there may be a bounty on him. But he had no other option than to trust her.
After making the plans, they left the cottage in the woods were they were staying and went to town. When they got to a place where there were people around, Tom had to stay back. He decribed the hospital to Karen and entrusted her with N200,000 in a parcel, to give to his sister, Grace, at the hospital. Karen kissed him and set out for the hospital.
Tom waited for forty-five minutes. He didn't know what to think. He was already cursing himself for trusting a bank worker.
An hour went by, still no sign of Karen. There was no phone to make a call. He was getting really pissed, and afraid too. What if Karen had notified the police and they were coming for him? He spat and He decided to leave the place.
Just then he caught sight of Karen walking steadily in his direction, holding the hand of his younger sister, Grace. They said goodbyes to each other and Grace turned back. Tom felt relieved. It was a success.
The passion between Karen and Tom got so strong that that evening they had each other's body for dinner.
