The branches rustled with the cold autumn wind, the red, orange and brown leaves blowing along. They played together, going in circles, round and round before finally settling down exhausted on the ground, creating a beautiful multicolored carpet, fit for the graceful steps of a king or queen.

The sun was still covered by the dark clouds, the threat of an autumn shower hanging in the air. However, any way one looked at it, the scene was one of nature's best.

Silent and tranquil.

It didn't stay that peaceful for long however. The reason?

A blonde running as if her life depended on it.

"Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, OH CRAP!" Lucy panicked, running at the speed of an Olympic runner. "So much for first day of school!"

Her mocha coffee threatened to spill, hair previously set in a hurry now completely ruffled, face flushed. It would've been safe to say that Lucy Heartfilia looked like she had just survived a storm.

"I knew I shouldn't have started chating with that cute barista despite being late!" Lucy muttered angrily. "Ugh! Why do I do such stupid stuff?!"

In all of her twenty years of existence, she had not once found a satisfactory answer for the said question. She wasn't stupid academically, actually she was quite the student. However, when it came to life and decisions, she was not the person who could be left on her own with that.

"WHY in the world didn't you wake me up?!" Lucy groaned, hurriedly fixing her bed hair.

Levy put down the book she was reading with a thud, staring back at her sternly. Add the glasses and you practically got a strict librarian breathing down your neck.

Lucy visibly gulped.

"Well excuse me for slapping you awake with your alarm ringing for the hundredth time."

"Yeah but-"

"You just wouldn't wake girl!" Levy sighed, exasperated. "I tried everything!"

"I know." Lucy mumbled dejectedly, slumping down on a chair. "It's just..all so new. I'm so used to mom waking me up that I..I'm an idiot.."

Levy moved over, half embracing her. "Well cheer up girl! It's a new life now! And be sure to count in on me." the bluenette smiled. "I promise that by the end of this semester, you're gonna be so sick of me that you're gonna need me to call to wake you up when you go back home during the breaks!" she laughed.

"You're so weird." the blonde mumbled, laughing along nonetheless.

"Now get up! You're gonna be late!"

She nodded hurriedly, and made a headway for the door, receiving a sleepy good luck from Cana.

"What's wrong?" Levy asked, tilting her head in confusion when she saw her stop.

Lucy turned around, a nervous smile on her face. "I uh..I uh.." she stuttered, rubbing the back of her neck. "Can you tell me how to get to class?"
